The water swirled down the drain in the tub Kyara knew as a bed. It was bright outside and a quick look at the clock confirmed her fears. Slept in again... oh well. Maybe she hadn't missed breakfast? The kitchen revealed Cyrus looming over his own plate with a pile of pancakes adorning the center of the table. Upon seeing her his eyes widened and he gently pulled the pile towards himself, "These are my pancakes, and I shall protect them... with my life if I need to." "Oh... Okay." Kyara responded and dejectedly turned around to leave. Cyrus laughed and gestured at her "Come on now, I can joke can't I? Go ahead and have some!" Kyara grinned and sat at the table and with joyful eyes asked, "How do I know you didn't poison them?" Cyrus adopted a pleading look and exasperated, "You trust me don't you? I wouldn't ever poison my own family!" She laughed, and took a plate. Alright then, thanks. After a couple bites she turned back to him, So where is Sera? The response, "She had to leave already, some kind of emergency across town about a dog. You shouldn't call her that you know, she wants you to think of her as a mom." I know, It's just... Kyara suddenly seemed lost in her thoughts. Cyrus tried to save himself, "It's alright, honestly, she'd answer to almost anything as long as it's you calling her." After a couple minutes of silence Cyrus stood up and placed his now empty plate in the wash. "Hurry up, I need to leave soon." Kyara glanced at him quizzically. Why are you waiting for me? Cyrus motioned at her, "You promised to at least try talking to a new face remember? And I'm holding you to that. Now come on, I don't want to be late" She had forgotten and now regretted making that promise. Oh well, no way out now, not with how eager Cyrus looked. She scarfed down the rest of her breakfast and followed him out the front door. Cyrus grabbed her hand and pulled her along, "I saw something move over there, lets go!" Cyrus pulled her hand away, I can do this on my own, you'll just make it worse. Cyrus raised his eyebrows, "Well, I won't believe it until I see it, now lets get going." he said while pushing her forward. [@King Tai] They didn't meet anyone in the next few blocks, or the next, or when they finally reached Cyrus's restaurant. Cyrus crossed his fingers and walked right past his own destination, in hopes of finding a new face in town. Finally, in a more abandoned portion of town he found what he was looking for. "Look, there's one!" he announced joyfully and pulled Kyara towards the young man. Instead of approaching the man himself though, he pushed Kyara out in front of himself and yelled "Talk to him!" while he ran, presumably to open his restaurant for the day, or to watch from a distance. "Wait!" was the desperate reply which wasn't heeded in the least. I'll have to talk to that jerk later.
