Name: Oscar Soames. Codename (No Super): Caretaker. Age: 32. Genes: None! Powers: None! Skills: Firearms - Mostly trained with handguns, though he has fired and is extremely competent with submachine guns and shotguns. CQB - Mostly hand-to-hand but he knows his way around a knife enough to use one well in a fight. Anything larger would mostly be brute strength. Persuasion - While nothing special, Oscar has a good face and a mollifying voice, years spent as a police officer had given him a knack for trying to talk people down. Microsoft Excel - Is his bitch. He knows proper formulas and everything. Personality: Friendly, if a bit no-nonsense, Oscar was the type of person who very much enjoyed his work. When he was on the clock, he got his work done, shoulders down and didn't ruffle any feathers, keeping to the book and only throwing it at someone when they stopped to do it to him first. He spent his free time at the gym, at the firing range - but most of the time just reading, sitting down and sinking a few hours into turning pages until he fell asleep, and the work-day started over again. Biography: Oscar stood just shy of six foot tall, with black hair and a handsome face, if a little worn and tired most days. He kept in good shape, clearly taking care of himself, and was anything but the lazy security guard stereotype. Unlike many other of the employees of Phoenix Security, this was just a job for Oscar, at least it'd started that way. He didn't come in for the community of like-people who had powers, nor did he truly care too much that they were superpowered. Having years of experience on the police force as a specialist firearm officer, he'd acquired a set of skills that set him up perfectly for the job of Group Manager of Investigations for the Harborvale branch. Despite not having left his previous job of his own volition (and not wanting to talk about why), his resume was more than enough to land him a cushy position within the company, making sure that the superpowered people conducting investigations didn't cause too much trouble or get themselves within any, as to not cause any public outcry toward superpowered people, as well as keeping people within the company safe from witchhunting - sort of like Public Relations with a gun. A year or two into the job, he was finally settled in. He knew where to go for lunch when he wanted something light - knew where to get a good coffee before the day began, and had his routine down to the minutes. He'd worked several good cases, solved a few crimes of notoriety, and enjoyed the fact that he only really needed to pass the paperwork to the proper authorities rather than do it all himself. While he missed having legal jurisdiction, he didn't miss the paperwork attached to it. He settled himself in for another day, scanning himself into the building with his half-drunk latte in his hand. He'd barely sat down before the phone rang. Jean Cyrus attacked in his own building. The pharmaceutical tycoon could make or break the company, and though it sounded like a golden opportunity, it failed to sit right with him. Having been in security, and the police force for some time, he'd had his fair share of scenarios with superpowered people. None of them pleasant enough that he wanted to relive it anytime soon. The plastic cup touched the table, drained of its contents and he breathed out, fingers clacking against the keyboard as he sent an email. >>>>>HIGH PRIORITY: JEAN CYRUS<<<<< Just four more days until the weekend. Equipment: Body Armour - Whether it was Kevlar or something that the science team had worked on, most of his equipment was standard issue right from Phoenix Security. M1911 Pistol - Sidearm and privately owned, he kept it on him (when legal) at all times, concealed whenever it was legal, but open carry when it wasn't. it had no real modifications to speak of, besides a non-stock compensator. Ties to the Police - While not exactly equipment, Oscar has some ties and friends within the police service, and while he's loathe to ask favours as much as his friends are loathe to carry them out, it makes for an invaluable resource in the private investigation business.
