The sun does however weaken you.
When exposed to sunlight, Alice will feel drained and uncomfortable. Imagine waking from a hard nap where your still very fatigued and somewhat disoriented, and you remain in this state while in the sunlight and for a few minutes after exposure. You can still feed, and you can still channel the beast within, i.e your red eyes, fangs, and claws still can become visible. But your strength, leaping, running, and resistance to conventional pain are greatly diminished. And your power over animals is completely unusuable when weakened by the sun.

-and Beheading
