Fun."}

Richard froze. Slowly he turned to look at Pietro. The Adder's expression went from cross that Nina got in his way, to a thoughtful look. "Ayita..." The word rolled off his tongue slowly. Swiftly and completely ignoring all the enemies and former allies about him the man strode the elevator. It couldn't be. Could it? She had stared right at him. Had she not recognized him? It was possible, she was- had been only five when he had left. Her eyes had been a light brown, eyes of a doe he had remembered so well. "The damned eyes!" The hired gun muttered to himself as the elevator ascended. Had the doe become a predator? Was it possible? He frowned deeply as the cramped box rose from the bowels of the building. Up above Ayita looked at Avalanche before shifting back to her human form, her muscles still tight as she watched the two Brotherhood members. At least the one who shook the earth had enough sense. Baring her teeth at Toad, Ayita gave the annoyance a feral smile. Far more of a threat than a comfort. No one could call her off, save herself. She was a predator and while she wouldn't say it. She was pleased that Avalanche was worried about her. Very please. The ding of the elevator coming up made her glance to the side to check it but that hardly prepared her for the two hand that snatched her shoulders. It was the snake-eyed man again. Her amber eyes narrowed in anger, this was the man who shot Damon. Her displeasure was a growl. Richard strode from the elevator to seize the other shifter by the shoulder, the photograph of a distracted girl staring out at the sea. Light auburn hair was blowing about her face in wild curls. The woman under his hands snarls and jerked back, but Richard held firm. Staring at the girl-woman for a long moment. The eyes were looking at him with such rage, but it was there. That wild nature was there. He cursed himself for not recognizing it. "It is you... Ayita." The Adder whispered shoving the photo into a pocket of his pants. The wild-child froze and stared at the man. Eyes uncertain. "How do you know my-?" Ayita froze and stared at the man. Richard Laine. Looked at the man sharply. Laine. The last name she had run away from for years. Had refused to take when her mother had cast her out. It wasn't possible. That man had long hair, black like this one but he was not so old. So well dressed. So... alive. "He's dead." Her voice was a snarl. Richard was already shaking his head. "She lied Ay. She lied about a lot of things to you. God, I should have never left you alone." Pulling a bulge from his suit, the deadly assassin shoved a battered partly flattened stuffed Orca into the woman's chest. Ayita blinked down at the old toy. She remembered this, she remembered getting it. The long haired big brother had left with a large bag on his back, mussing her hair and telling her to keep watching for him. And she had. For years. Her eyes snapped up towards Richard along with her fist. Richard let the blow land, it was a weak hit. However, the knee to his family jewels left Richard on the ground. With a gaps of pain. Shoving the Orca into Cassandra's hands with a growl of "Don't let anyone hurt my orca." and fell upon the man. Pummeling him ruthlessly with fists, knees, feet, and elbows. Richard didn't fight back so much as take it and try to avoid the worst of the blows. Though the barage of words she flung struck hard and heavily. And at top volume. "You son of a bitch! You abandoned me! You said you would come back! You said! I killed our sister, our father! I killed them and she told me I killed you too! You bastard! You didn't write! You didn't call-!" "We don't have a phone!" "I had to do everything! Then she tried to kill me! You asshole! She tried to sell me to a circus! A circus! And a zoo! Do you know what they do to animals in a circus?!" "Would it help if I said I was sorry?!" There was little answer as the two of them continued to beat on each other. Well, mainly Ayita was beating on Richard who had regained his feet and was fully defensive. Fending off the very angery woman, and sporting a few bite marks from where she tried to tear out his throat. Grabbing Ayita's arm as she slowed, Richard yanked her into his chest as he pinned her arms. Though there was little he could do to avoid her kicks or headbutts. "Missed you too, Ay." The man grinned cheekily as the younger glared up at him. Growling and snarling threats. She would calm down. Though she was mad right now, Ayita hadn't been one to hold a grudge overly long. Though he would be the first to say he deserved every grudge she had against him. Proof was the fact he was the one sprouting the bruises, the Adder thought wirly.
