Hearing Zach’s words, Max took a step forward to continue their assault. However, the cop’s attention got drawn by many of the infinites who had entered the corridor. While he couldn’t drop his guard around Nariko, it would be foolish to ignore all the people coalesced in the hallways. Either they were all here to help fight Nariko, or they had brought their own problems with…them. One moment, Zach was readying an arrow; the next, he was absent. In a split second, Willow ran through the A-team, leaving them with one man short. Max could only shout his name before said shout got drowned out by the infinitely more agonizing screams of the archer. It was too optimistic to think that they were gonna win without casualties, and Max knew that; that’s why he immediately refocused on Nariko. Emotions are prohibited in such a situation, and Max knew that willow was a threat, but multiple people already turned to face Willow. The only threat that max should target was Nariko; that was his job. “Keep her busy.” Was all that Max said to what remained of the A-team before bolting. He intended to circle the pharmacy to get behind Nariko for an ambush. As he was running around the corner, he could only hope that the others did their job too. Within a few seconds, max hid behind the corner at the opposite side of Nariko, she was trapped. Max eyed the cable that Nariko almost cut through; if he could only finish the job, they could take out the carnage chassis once and for all. All that needed to be done now was wait for Nariko to be distracted, a single moment would be enough for Max to disable her rear legs or electrify her to death.
