Gun wizard could be done multiple ways.

Like the simplest would it be like a laser gun and maybe some stuff you jam into it to change how it works and it runs off your own mana or an external mana supplier. Perhaps you channel spells through gun and the gun makes it easier than casting traditionally but at some cost, or maybe it works like the Caster Gun from Outlaw Star.
