~Name~ Dannisus ~Age~ 19 ~Gender~ Male ~Species~
The Myti are catlike folk who take to forested areas like animals. Their affinity with magic is astounding to behold. Myti stand out as some of the most advanced casters in the lands. Harnessing magic is almost like learning how to walk for a Myti, unless they're unfortunate enough to be born male, anyways. Although rare, making up less than 10% of the Myti population, Male Myti are almost completely incapable of harnessing magical energy, or casting spells. They are also typically more frail compared to females, and lack some of the more distinctive feline features that define their race. Due to this imbalance in sex, Myti are entirely Matriarchal. Males are subservient to women in Myti culture, except during mating period, during which time the dogma shifts violently for several weeks. The average lifespan of female Myti is 200-220 years. They stand 4.5-5.5 feet on average, are covered in fur from head to toe, and posses very cat-like features, such as a tail, sharp claws, sharp fangs, and small fuzzy ears. The average lifespan of a Male Myti is 250-270 years. They stand 4-5 feet on average, and have more human-like features, lacking fur around their face, appendages, and back areas. Myti males do not have claws, or sharp fangs.
~Appearance~ Dannisus stands just shy of 5 feet and has a fairly toned build unlike most other Male Myti. His typical garb consists of lightly armored leather. His clothing is slightly revealing around his joints and midsection to allow for full range of motion, but protects most of his vital areas without weighing him down heavily, or making him look like a renegade soldier. Where his fur stands out, it's plain beige, and short. One of his ears is cut clean through the middle, effectively making it half an ear, and his tail is covered in burn marks. ~Abilities~ Dannisus is incapable of magic. Instead, he has devoted a fair portion of his time to researching magical artifacts, making him a specialist on identifying, an using anything with magical properties, assuming he also knows how to use non-magical variants. As such, Dannisus can use scrolls, enchant weapons, and operate magical equipment as long as he has the necessary tools available to him. Additionally, Dannisus is skilled with several types of weapons, most notably his two handed long sword. He can effectively use most types of swords and daggers, staves, axes, hammers, shields, bows, spears, and has a natural talent for weapon-play, allowing him to attain some level of mastery in a very short time using almost anything that can be wielded with one or two hands. ~Weaknesses~ As stereotypical as it sounds, Dannisus cannot swim, and is terrified of deep water, and large-scale water magic. He's also hard of hearing on his left side due to his ear injury. His tail is also very sensitive. Extended pressure, or direct damage to his tail can affect his focus tremendously. ~Weapons~ Long sword A Myti long sword, slim and crafted with a slightly curved blade. It almost resembles a katana, but bears much more weight and destructive power. It cannot be wielded like a katana, or a traditional long sword, due to its awkward shape and weight. The blade can be empowered through the use of a mana sphere. Morphing Short Sword Dannisus' sidearm is enchanted to morph to his whim. At the expense of a single mana sphere, the blade can change to nearly any shape as long as it does not lose or gain any mass. This means it can lower or increase its density to grow or shrink, which can make it weaker or stronger. ~Items~ Mana Spheres A general tool that Dannisus uses to trigger weapon enchantments. Typically, they can enact elemental enchantments on a weapon, or trigger an innate enchantment. They can also be used to operate un-powered magical artifacts. Dannisus carries a great number of these on his person, as they are no larger than an inch in diameter each. ~Backstory~ Dannisus' tale isn't one of woe or misery. The long and short of his past boils down to impatience and stress. Being born a male had put him beneath his peers from the very start, something that he had never been fond of, and aimed to correct ever since he could remember. His efforts, needless to say, were unsuccessful. Considering his position, Dannisus took it upon himself to retreat from his home, and defy his birthright to a profound weakness. He travels the world with a distinct desire to unlock his magical potential, which according to his mother and his gender, was zero. Despite warnings and objections, he fled his home in search of the secrets of mana. Throughout his short life, he's already come across his own fair share of misfortunes, but always manages to keep his chin up despite any suffering that comes his way. Myti males do not have claws, or sharp fangs.
~Appearance~ Lannissa stands roughly 5'10, much taller than most Myti. Unlike most females though, her muscles are far less developed, making her extraordinarily lithe. With thinner, longer limbs than most of her sisters, Lani takes on a far more threatening appearance despite her inability to use Myti weaponry or engage in hand-hand combat. Her fur, much Like Dannisus', is beige with Bengal-like brown stripes running across her body. This tiger like appearance is also fairy uncommon among Myti, and may explain her other proportions. She does not wear any clothing, instead allowing the fur around most of her body to grow out adequately enough to obscure most of her body's features. Most of her fur is grown out to at least an inch, shorter only around her face, neck, and limbs. Her ears and tail are much longer than Dannisus' as well, and her cat-like features are very pronounced, as one might already imagine. ~Abilities~ Most Female Myti are very adept in physical combat. Lani however, is not. Unlike her brothers and sisters, she cannot climb trees effortlessly, or use her claws offensively without risking a fair amount of damage to her own body. Her bones allow for very quick movement, even faster than her brother, but are extremely fragile, more so than a typical Myti's. Where she excels is with her magical prowess. ~Natural Wrath~ Lani's magic is a little peculiar. While her mana pool is astronomical when compared to even her fellow Myti, she cannot conjure raw elements like most mages can. Instead, Lani can only manipulate and empower the elements around her with very little strain put on her body. The more general limits of her control are not well defined; Lani seems to have control over almost anything, except for living creatures. For the purpose of specification, her control can be divided into two sections. ~Energy Manipulation~ Lani's major trait is her ability to inject her mana into energy, gaining full control over it. While this effectively makes her completely immune to energy-based magic, as she can simply steal spells if she sees them coming, she cannot conjure any energy of her own. All forms of energy are vulnerable to her magic. She cannot immediately steal dense physical magics, such as earth or solid ice. ~Matter Manipulation~ Lani's secondary trait is far weaker than her initial ability. Lani can manually control unclaimed matter, (That is to say, matter that is not controlled by another mage) and use it to do her bidding. The denser the matter, the harder it is for her to manipulate it, however. Things like wood and glass are very taxing to control, and objects made of steel or stone are downright beyond her abilities. Light matter, like liquids and gasses are very easy for her to control, but she can only use them on a large scale. For example, she cannot remove all the oxygen around a person's head, or move a bubble of water in front of their mouths. Rather, she would need to dump a pond on them, or remove all the oxygen in the immediate atmosphere, including the oxygen that she needs to breath. Considering her less-than-ample lung capacity, techniques like this can be considered rather suicidal. At any rate, the denser matter is, the longer it takes to use or steal. ~Myti Senses~ Much like Dannisus, Lani's senses are heightened, and she can smell mana. Unlike Dannisus, Lani can also hear Mana and spellcasting. ~Weaknesses~ Lani's body is tremendously frail. Although she is very fast, possibly faster than Dannisus, the average human could likely snap her femur with a moderate amount of effort. She also has a very low tolerance for pain. Her hearing is sensitive, making her susceptible to loud noises, and during mating periods, she cannot use magic. ~Weapons~ N/A Lani cannot wield weapons. ~Items~ N/A Lani does not have pockets, or carry around a pack.
