Aetheria took a couple of steps outside the nurses office, stretching her muscles a bit as she prepared brunch on the inside. It seemed like it would be a good, relaxing, ca- Were those screams? The white mage blinked twice as she watched people dodge out of the way of what seemed to be a rampaging cow-girl. For a moment she seemed to try and internally confirm what she saw, but it seemed that the poor familiar was very upset and was expressing that with a great deal of disruption and general noise. "S-stop!" The woman yelled after the cow. If that didn't work, the white mage would wave their staff and the brown haired girl would feel a sudden calm try and wash over them as a rather angry white mage approached. If that didn't work to get her to sufficiently make the girl stop moving, the cow would feel a couple celestial chains being added to the equation. As one of the teachers her job was to enforce discipline, which included sometimes 'taking care' of rowdy familiars until their owners decided to collect them. "What's going on here? What's with the noise?" The cow had a bell collar around her neck - so unless their owner straight up abandoned them she doubted that was an issue. "You're disturbing an awful lot of people, you better have a good explanation for this." It was rather obvious the teacher was irritated. Just sit at the table? Maoin blinked a couple times, confused. "Y-yes Lady Luna?" It seemed like the cat was a bit concerned as she lowered herself into the chair obediently as if she was unsure if this was some type of strange test. The kitten sniffed the contents on the table, coming to the same conclusion as Lady Lightsword and Lady Sol - for simple meals, it seemed the knightess was capable of cooking them herself. She had faltered with the more complex spices a bit, but the mistakes certainly didn't make the meals inedible or even taste bad. And her next words made the cat feel a little bit guilty ... had the paladin really done this for her? Because of their little argument? Despite the fiasco in the morning, Maoin knew her mistress' mage to be a good person and the perfect example of what nobility was meant to be. And because of her speaking up, the noble felt guilted into making something. "T-thanks Lady Luna." She really was grateful, but her ears fell just a bit and her tail landed lifelessly in her lap as her own mistress suggested this could be a more regular thing. "N-no it's fine mistress! I'd hate to bother a noble of the Lightsword house like that!" Maoin seemed earnest, though realized that could be taken as an insult. "The foods great Lady Luna! Really! B-but I'm the servant here!" The cat took a few more bites, but it was clear that she was feeling more than a little guilty as she went silent and ate her smaller portion of the meal slowly. For now, the spider at Sol's feet went unnoticed. Meowka struggled a bit more as the dolls held her down, but by the end of the puppeteer's first sentence she had given up and stopped. Of course the puppeteer had told her that - and the cat didn't want to believe it was true. Was her owner just being modest? Deep down, the cat knew what she said was true. That didn't mean she had to appreciate or care - to her, Katherine was the strongest. It didn't matter if someone else had more magical ability. Not savages ...? The cat remembered back to the days with Ronat, where they would steal food from stalls, commit petty crimes, and overall be a minor menace to society. Compared to being with Ronat, living with the teacher made her feel like nobility. Was she supposed to be ashamed of her past? "... Not savages ... o-ok." She was right about the headmistress of course as well, though Meowka couldn't help but comment. "I know. I still don't like her though." For the most part Meowka was quiet and contemplative as the mage approached and the prowler of the night letting the mage help lift her up off her feet. "Yeah, I'll help." A little guilt ran into the cat's veins - once again she seemed to be causing problems for the woman who took care of her. "I-I'm sorry for causing problems, Mistress Katherine. Again. Thanks for taking care of me." It didn't take the familiar bond to tell Meowka was still upset about this entire encounter - Meowka's eyes watered slightly before she turned her head away in an effort to hide her face, obviously ashamed but trying not to show it. Kat really was the merciful one between them.
Otille Kohler
Otille was honestly a little surprised as the smaller girl responded so seriously - how old was she? It was a little deflating to hear that sort of response, but the headmistress quickly walked in and helped dispel interest in the gods. Still though, Otille did find the girl interesting, at least, as she finally managed to pull her eyes away from the elf and focus on responding to the headmistress. "Y-yes headmistress." It was rather apparent that Otille had figured out that Miss Livia knew what was going on. "I-I don't mean to trouble you, but it seems like I need another source of income ... and possibly school loans." The peasant frowned. "Cocoa's great and all, but now I'll need to take care of her as well." What skills did she have? "I know how to take care of livestock, and have helped around my local inn and my lord's manor before. I don't really have any other skills, but I'm used to dirty work." It was rather obvious that farmer was a little concerned now - getting an education was already going to be difficult, and now she was going to have to juggle learning and work as well. She wouldn't dare ask Cocoa to help - she couldn't imagine making her familiar work - speaking of which, she felt panic from their bond. Was something going on? She'd head back to the inn immediately after this conversation. "Do you have any recommendations or programs?"
