This lets all get along narrative is all well and good but functionally it provides a smoke screen under which reprehensible views survive.

What if those people are Nazis? What if those people tell their children they are going to burn in hell if they love someone of the same sex? What if those people think grabbing a woman by the pussy is awesome? I'm totally ok with 'excommunicating' them and they are welcome to 'excommunicate' me. Fuck those people.

Do I think you should never talk to a conservative? Obviously not but I don't have a particular moral obligation to include them in my life either (although I sometimes have a professional one).
