Disaster was coming in hard and fast! The summit of Reverse Mountain pooled up the four currents like a whirlpool before ejecting the water back down. This made the situation especially difficult to deal with, and most of the Red Rums were ignoring their captain’s orders. Thankfully, it was to make themselves useful in other ways, suited to each of their unique talents. The other ship’s crew could be seen doing their best as well, and quite a colorful group were they! But now wasn’t the time to stop and gawk. The trees Bonesword sprouted did a great job at slowing the Rum Runner’s trajectory. What they also did was completely throw off the ship’s course. The current still carried them in the same direction, but not straight. They were spinning. Even better at slowing them, and helping to stabilize their course, was Lilliana’s contribution with her B-MO. The spinning slowed and nearly came to a total halt! But they really started going places once Kite managed to juryrig some repairs on the mast. Enough even that Dirk had some measure of control over the ship! Aided by Caesar’s raw strength, Dirk was able to direct the Rum Runner properly, albeit with intense difficulty. Narrowly missing a series of rocks, the Rum Runner made it to the mouth of the downward channel! As long as she kept steady, they were home free! Down, down, down they went, picking up more and more speed as gravity worked on the ship! The end was in sight, clouded by the mist of water churning. And they! Were! FREE! Droplets splashed over everyone’s faces as they passed through the curtain of mist. On the other side, nothing but beautiful blue ocean in every direction. A couple seconds later the other ship emerged as well. The mustachioed man could be heard screaming like a child, gripping his ship’s figurehead. However once they cleared the danger, he instantly decomposed himself. The ship pulled up next to the Rum Runner, and the man addressed them. ”Ahoy there! That was quite a close call, wasn’t it? Shook me right up! Omnomnomnomnom! What luck we had, eh? I’d say it’s a sign! Care to meet up and introduce ourselves? My crew was just about to sit down for some lunch, but you’re welcome to join us! There’s more than enough to go around! Omnomnomnom!” Assuming the Red Rums took up the mustached man on his offer, he would setup a crossing plank immediately.
