Until they had reached the boarder of the temple, Ben had held Odette's hand. Her warmth and his warmth intermingling, feeling as if a meager sun rested between them. Reluctantly his hand slipped from hers'; a crowd of padawans signaling for them to disguise their love. He placed a calculated three feet between them, his cool confidence replacing the comfort of their rhythm. "These fools! All of them bouncing and playing hero. Standing hand-in-hand with this farce of a order. When I sweep it aside, I'll save only a few worthy padawans. Four, maybe five." He decided. Not too long after his dark contemplations, Odette and Ben had reached Master Luke. He could barely contain the physical derision that often threatened to appear. A tightness to his muscles, a clenched fist here or there, a jagged grinding of his teeth where calm should had been. If not for his discipline, from the teachings of both Luke and Vader ... and The Other, his rage would have exploded. The Other was the one he feared the most, that put him on edge. A monster of galactic wisdom. He came very rarely but when he did he brought an ocean of blackness with him. Perfectly normal, Ben folded his arms over his chest and awaited for Luke's orders. His mind caressed the hilt of his lightsaber, even as he drew on the Force to subtly dry his and Odette's clothes.
Luke could sense the avenues of the Force, even the ones that his nephew were using to churn and heat up. Odette and Ben must have been at the lake again, no doubt fraternizing and hiding away their love. He had wanted them to come clean to him once-upon-a-time, eager to show that he could accept their relationship, that his Jedi Order was a different order. One that would follow the teachings but deviate from the impassiveness of Obi-Wan's generation. He chuckled pleasantly even as he poured a cup of tea for himself. "Good question, Jedi Knight: Odette. How about a slight practice between the students and the master?" He sipped his tea with a youthful smile that betrayed his age, not that he looked a day over forty. "I've acknowledged your skills and talent in the Force. However, this last piece will be far from easy. With the First Order lurking out there and the Dark Side growing from ... from somewhere, I fear I'll need a demonstration of your utmost abilities. Follow me." Luke led them out to the Temple's practice arena. There the padwans gathered at Luke's call, explaining it would be a crucial lesson for them. It would give them something to aspire to, a goal that appeared reachable. "Now you two, no holding back." With that said, he called his lightsaber to his hand and lit its green blade. "Because I won't be."
