[@OfWindAndRain]Actually, their personality could be a bit different from the show, as they lost friends, fought Reavers, etc. three months earlier.  Simon is also dating Kaylee now, which could change him.  That means that if you don't quite get the personality right we can explain it away.

Edit: also, River and Simon aren't fugitives any more.
