Class: Scarlet Saber True Name: Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, El Cid, El Compeador, The Prince of Valencia (Referred to as El Cid most Commonly) Gender: Male

Height: 6'1" Weight: 198 lbs Personality: A man of his honor, as well as a man who was adored by the peasants, Cid is a kindly, honorable man who would rather die than forsake a promise, or a friend. His noble upbringing gave him a taste for the finer things in life, but his childhood gave him the plentiful trouble bringing chances that came with the rambunctiousness of youth; As such, Cid is rather reserved when formality is required, but drops the guise of self importance when in privacy with another, often cracking playful jests, or engaging in drinking with them. Of course, the formality tends to stay up far longer around women. Medieval customs and his fond love for his wife have given him a reservation towards speaking so boisterously around them, and as such it may take more time for women to see that side of him. A fan of sport and competition, Cid may occasionally ask a fellow servant to engage in a contest to pass the time, often expressing sincere surprise at being bested. This is not due to an amount of overconfidence in Cid's part, rather, it is more that in his entire life, he had never been directly defeated even once. A smile is typically present on his face, as even just being able to move once more, even shackled to Akasha, is a blessing in and of itself. He is however extremely embarrassed at his newfound gluttony as a heroic spirit, often being forced to carry heaps of food whenever needed to move to an area where they would be away from home for several days. He is incredibly stubborn when it comes to battles against other enemy servants, often not wanting to admit defeat. He is the type of man to plan extensively before a battle, and collaborate with his fellow warriors to ensure minimal casualties, and maximum chance of victory. If a plan were to go awry, he would be willing to sacrifice himself to provide a way out, seemingly overconfident in his own abilities to overcome anything and everything. Strengths:

His skill with a sword is second to none as famous war hero with two blades firmly lodged into history and myth alike.
Loyal to the end, it is unlikely that a command seal is necessary to control Cid's actions, save for emergencies, or if one wishes him to commit a dishonorable act against his code of chivalry.
Due to being famous for various sieges in life, he is adept at taking down fortresses and various other types of fortifications.
Weaknesses:

Chivalry's a bitch, and as such unless explicitly ordered to do so by a master he trusts, or forced by a command seal, Cid will fight one on one to the death if possible. Even against a demigod, he would still fight his hardest and regret nothing as he dies.
Due to often fighting against opponents on foot, horseback, or in general in melee combat, he is at an extreme disadvantage at range, and his low Magic Resistance skill makes him an easy target for a powerful Caster.
His mana consumption when using Tizona is extremely high, and as such will often only be able to use it for a small window of time before needing to sheath it, or end the battle soon.
Fatal Flaw: El Cid met his demise during the siege of Valencie, not by sword or bow, but by stomach. He died of Starvation, and as such his existence as a heroic spirit actually requires him to consume food. Rather than this being a simple weakness that merely inconveniences him, if Cid were to miss a meal, his parameters would begin dropping. If he went a day without eating, his Attributes would all become --, making him barely more powerful than a regular human physically. This also means that his mana intake is huge, and his efficiency rather low. After almost any given fight, Cid will need to eat or suffer huge penalties. Origin: The legend of El Cid is one that has been recorded since the 11th century, a figure of power and military might, as well as a gentle father and unifier of all of Spain in the epic poem written about him. Due to the similarities of some major events, as well as the prominence of Tizona and Colada in the latter epic, this heroic spirit is a myriad of the two interpretations of El Cid, being unable to decipher for himself whether he is the fictional retelling or not. Attributes Physique: + Skill: + Agility: - Mana: - Luck: +
[Please keep it to six or less! Also, remember that Skills exist to greater and lesser degrees. While you don’t have to use the grading system, I would like it if you’d put a plus or a minus next to the name to signify whether it’s a “strong” or a “weak” Skill, just like attributes.] Magic Resistance C+ (Weak):"Magic...such a strange thing to be forgotten to warfare. I've never tasted it in life, but come, let this Knight of Castille have your best!" In his life, El Cid never encountered magic save for the enchanted swords that he wields. As a Heroic Spirit grounded in mostly normal events, his Magic Resistance is relatively low, only existing due to his nature as a Saber class servant. However, due to his piety and visions of the Archangel Gabriel in a dream, he is slightly more resistant to magic that is used by Biblical servants. Riding B (Weak): "Though you are not here, I remember our last ride together. Babieca, let my rein hand not slip!" Though he lacks a mount of his own, Cid possesses sufficient skill to ride most mounts known to man. In life, he rode the stallion Babieca, who has been sealed off due to his class and instead functions as a Contingency Noble Phantasm. Bravery B (Strong):"Defeat isn't a thought in my mind. Only through confidence and conviction can we prevail. Ha, were you expecting a cowardly Saber!? As the man who is able to wield both Tizona and Colada, El Cid's mind is unshakable by mental effects such as Fear. Additionally, this makes his prowess with a sword all the more deadly, as he is unwavering in his strikes. If an opponent were to use a bizarre sword technique such as Tsubame-Gaeshi, he would likely attempt to face it head on. Whether it could be classified as bravery, or foolishness, the Knight of Valentia doesn't see defeat as a possibility when he is fighting. Battle Continuation A(Strong):"So long as flesh clings to bone, my blade will not falter. Come- Let your last dance be with El Cid." Cemented from the legend of his corpse being put on horseback in order to break a siege, Cid's body is capable of bouncing back from all but surely fatal wounds. Even if his heart were to be destroyed completely, he would be able to retain full body movement for at least 10 minutes. Brilliance of Cooperation B (Varies):"Hmm...quite the pickle we're in. Oh well. If we put our heads together, surely something will come of it!" Famed for valuing his fellow soldier's opinions in upcoming battles, Cid's famous brainstorming sessions take root as a skill that is useless when he is alone. However, when around multiple individuals that are allied, whether they be servants or masters, the skill activates and seems to permeate an "Air of Agreeability and Clarity." While Cid himself likely won't come up with the battle-winning strategy, he is able to make other shine even more brilliantly in a calm environment.

The true sword of El Cid, brought out only when an opponent proves to be worthy of it in his eyes. Colored a brilliant amber, the sword is a masterpiece forged from Damascus steel, through techniques long since forgotten to man, carrying a cup hilt separating the handle from the blade. The sword carries a curved cross guard etched with the phrase: "Yo soy la Tizona fue hecha en la era de mil e quarenta," on one side, the other saying: "Ave Maria gratia plena; dominus mecum". Only when both of these phrases are said aloud does the blade itself "activate". The Blade is three feet in length, in a shape comparable to an obelisk with a rectangular cross section tapering into a singular sharp point, with a fuller embedded into each of the four faces of the sword running halfway up. While inactivate, the blade retains its amber glow, only becoming a brilliant pure white when fully activated. The Noble Phantasm gains its ability from the nature of its name, being originally called tizón in Cantar De Mio Cid, or Firebrand in Latin. By its name alone, it manifests as a burning rod of iron due to its actual appearance being lost to history. In similar works to Cid's Song, the Chanson de Geste typically featured the Muslim Moors and Berbers using magecraft on occasion, lending to the weapon's supernatural nature. The mere sight of Tizona is enough to drive a normal man to terror, and a weak servant may even find themself faltering completely at the sight of it. It is a sword that challenges all with its burning prominence, shining as the sun does when held overhead. The fire of Tizona can be extinguished when it is sheathed into its read leather scabbard, the outside of which is lined with green velvet.

The second sword of Cid, and the one most often used. Due to its low Mana consumption, unless absolutely necessary or against a truly honorable opponent, Cid will default to this weapon. Colada was a weapon made of the purest steel imaginable with absolutely no impurities. The only noteworthy ability of Colada lies in its ability to completely ignore weaker materials as it cuts, moving through almost all metals as if they were water due to their impurities, and to break through magical protection just as easily. This is based on how in El Cantar de Mio Cid, the sword cut through chain, coif, cloth, and flesh in a singular blow delivered to Diego González by Martín Antolínez. The sword itself is broad-bladed, with a cup hilt that surrounds the user's hand. The blade is four feet in length, and the steel is polished to such a degree that it shines a brilliant white, appearing silver even under the most unflattering of lighting.

A noble phantasm that is sealed until the time of Cid's demise. Rather than immediately return to the throne, his free will is replaced with a singular directive of: "Break the line". Upon this Noble Phantasm activating, his class is forcibly changed to Rider before his steed in life, Babieca, materializes beneath him as a black stallion. Once mounted, Cid will endlessly charge forth until a path is secured for those he had fought beside, even if all that remains of Cid is a severed leg attached to the saddle. Created from the moment where his corpse was placed upon a horse in legend to break an enemy siege line with his wife in tow, Cid recalls it differently; As a desperate act by a starving man to save the woman he loved more than any other. Rather than serving a destructive purpose, this power is most likely going to be used to save either his master, or another servant's own life by sacrificing his own.

Belongings: Cid carries very little with him from his life, save for his Noble Phantasms. However, one would find it easy to see that he wears a ring engraved with the names of his wife and two daughters, the ring itself a brilliant gold that glitters on his finger when worn. Beyond sentimental value, this ring matters little. A second ring is in his possession, a silver one with no markings upon it. A gift that he had given in marriage that resides now with him always, he wears it upon a taut string around his neck. His garb is a mixture of formal wear of nobility, with vital areas being covered by a mixture of cloth and chain armor. He wears the pauldrons of a Knight of Aragon, the very same knight who he slew and then gained the title of El Compeador. When going into battle, he dons the full set of that Knight of Aragon's armor, re-fitted for himself and emblazoned with the crowns of Aragon along the length of the arms.
