Lazulin cursed as he felt the magical energy he had gathered flow out of him uselessly, his magic being dampened by something he couldn't see. And not only that, but it would seem that the group would suddenly find themselves greeted with some unwelcome company in the form of a literal horde of feathered little devils divebombing anything that moved on deck. Like the others, Laz would duck out of the way to avoid the first wave of attacks, reaching into his coat to bring out a long, slender dagger, as his gun would prove rather useless without any ether to power the firing mechanisms. Still, he made certain that every foul fowl that made it's way towards him would not bother him afterwards as he made his way over to the Inquistor girl, who was helping the last few civilians down into the barge's depths.
