[indent]Annalise's facial features are a nearly perfect blend of her mother and father's; while inheriting her mother's infectious smile, curvy figure, and slanted eyes, she also received her father's nose and caramel skin tone. The young African-American woman stands at about five feet, four inches tall and weighs in at exactly 146 pounds. Despite her height, she is quite long legged and relatively curvy. Her mother always told her that she inherited her wide hips and large bust from her grandmother. She is also very toned and athletic, spending a good portion of her time in the gym and jogging around her neighborhood in an effort to slim down a bit more. Her skin is usually free of any blemishes, the only exceptions being the vertical scar on her eyebrow and the freckles that lay across the bridge of her nose. Her natural hair is curly, dark brown, and shoulder length. You'll usually see her with light brown highlights. 

Much to her mother's dismay, Anna's wardrobe consists mostly of loose fitting or men's clothing. If she isn't at a formal function where she's usually forced to wear a dress or skirt, the young woman will usually be seen wearing a pair of denim jeans, an over-sized T-shirt or hoodie, and sneakers or heels. Still trying to develop her own sense of fashion, Anna would lump her style in with urban-chic or street wear fashion. She has a special talent for putting an interesting twist on what she wears, mixing high-end and low-end effortlessly.  As far as jewelry goes, Anna is always [i]blinged out[/i]. With her flashy necklaces, rings, and bracelets, she can make the most basic and minimalist outfits look like they belong in a fashion editorial.[/indent]

[indent]On the surface, Anna appears to be the intelligent, bright ray of sunshine that her parents raised her to be. She's kind and generous, just like her father, and inquisitive and clever like her mother. Ever since Anna was a young child she has been seen as one of the "sweethearts" of Salem. Not once has she ever caused any sort of trouble or disturbance in school or around town. She's always abiding by the rules; she does not miss curfew, stays focused and on task in school, and never disobeys her parents. When she's with her friends, she is rarely seen without a goofy grin on her face. She always tries her best to make others happy whether it be by giving them authentic compliments or cracking jokes. A textbook extrovert, Anna loves to chat with people; she does not shy away from talking to strangers, but tends to turn a few people off with her tendency to express her thoughts unconsciously and without restraint. She is individualistic and confident in herself and her actions. The young woman is also very active in the community, regularly lending a helping hand at homeless shelters, food banks, and more.  

Behind closed doors, however, Anna tends to be a completely different person. Maybe it's because of her natural, two-faced Gemini nature, or maybe it's just because she's sick and tired of being Salem's [i]sweetheart[/i]. Unbeknownst to anyone but her elder brother and closest friends, Anna hates having to put on a front to uphold her family's image. Unlike her parents, Anna couldn't care less about what other people think of her. She's individualistic, and likes to express herself in ways that her parents just don't understand. She has a short temper, is brutally honest, and also tends to be a bit careless. She's very blunt and straightforward, and doesn't hesitate to put someone in their place. She's very articulate and observant, and tends to notice things about people that they may not even be consciously aware of themselves. With the aid of her eloquence, Anna is also very manipulative, like her father, and finds joy in getting others to do as she pleases.[/indent]

[color=#FF3D01]Upbringing[/color][hr]
[indent]Anna Carver was born in the springtime, the second and final child of Abraham Theodore Carver and Alexandria Celeste Carver. The family of four lived on the East Coast before relocating to Salem, Illinois when Anna was ten years old; they bought a fairly large home in the city and even adopted a puppy. From the very minute the family stepped foot onto Salem soil, they've upheld a certain image within the community. In fact, their positive reputation was one of the main reasons why Abraham Carver was recently elected as the Mayor of Salem. As the daughter of Abraham and Alexandria Carver, Annalise was constantly expected to present herself in a certain way to the public; her parents required her to always abide by the rules, focus on her academics, and simply stay out of trouble.

In fact, Anna has never gotten into any sort of trouble outside of the privacy of her own home; not only was she a straight A student, but she was also involved in many other organizations and activities within her high school such as girls basketball, softball, dance, GSA club, the prom committee and, to no one's surprise, student council. While only showing interest in a couple of the activities mentioned, Anna was still pressured into participating in them in order to build up her college resume. Anna's parents tolerate nothing but the best from their child, and are always pushing her to strive for greatness. Now, in her Senior year of high school, Anna has become exactly what her parents crafted her to be: a well-behaved "sweetheart" with a bright mind and promising future in politics like her father. There's only one problem: Anna [b]does not[/b] want to be a politician.

For years, Anna has kept her true feelings bottled up, only somewhat revealing them to her elder brother and closest friends. Anna is actually much different from the person her parents have tried to make her out to be. For example, despite being an avid church goer, Anna is not at all religious. In fact, the more she learns about herself and her history, the more she grows to detest the church. She began to hang around with the "wrong crowd" in school, unbeknownst to her parents, and will occasionally sneak around and do things that they would not approve of. She also aspires to one day become a well-known dancer and choreographer rather than a doctor or politician; The one time she mentioned the idea of dancing for a living to her parents, she was met with intense criticism.
