As the years went by, Pietro eventually got rid of his cocky persona, and became more laid back. He still is overly-confident about his abilities, no matter what he has to do, but he generally chooses to do what is best for everyone, and for Guin. He will fight for the rest of the mutants, and will stop at nothing to defeat OMEN. The last mutants around the world are facing extinction, and he will help them however he can. Some people say that him rushing into danger to rescue others will get him killed one day, and maybe it will. He doesn't care, as long as it creates a better world for everyone else.

Pietro was there when the mansion fell. He was distant from his family, but that didn't matter to him. When OMEN attacked the mansion, he began to realize just how much he could lose. Professor Xavier died, and he hadn't been fast enough to save him. He placed the blame on himself for that one, no matter what anyone else told him. The mansion was completely destroyed, but they weren't out of the woods yet. OMEN caught up to them, and Marygold yelled for them to go. He had to practically drag Guin away, before he ran back, but he was already too late. He felt the weight of guilt on his shoulders, because once again, he wasn't fast enough to save someone. With Marygold gone, and the only person they had left really was Beast, Pietro took up the roll of team leader, and working on trying to keep everyone safe.

The aftermath was devastating to him. The world was going to hell, and the Mutant Registration Act had passed Congress a few months after they had gone into hiding. The decision to join forces with the Brotherhood for better chances of survival was a less than favorable option for him. He did not want to see his father and sister again, especially after everything that had happened between them. It wasn't the greatest of reunions, but he was willing to work with them, despite their differences over the past year. 

As the years went by, and they raced against the clock to find a way to defeat OMEN, they lost more people over the years, those who he had come to consider friends, everyone was gone. From the mansion, a few students remained, along with a few of them who had been apart of the X-Men team. He swore that he would stop this no matter what, and worked hard at getting faster in the hopes that he could prevent others from being killed by OMEN.

He had lost so many, and the day he lost his sister was harder than when they had lost the others. They had been so close, all the way up to when he had left the Brotherhood for the X-Men. Wanda could hold a grudge for a long time, and it wasn't until they were 25 and in hiding that they finally had begun to repair it. He had hoped that maybe, one day, things could go back to the way they were, but they never got the chance. A few months later, Wanda was killed by OMEN, protecting him from their agents, and an attack he hadn't seen coming up behind him. That day was probably the worse day of his life, and he didn't speak to anyone for weeks afterwards. 

There was one highlight in his life, and that was when he married Guin. It was one happy moment among all of the death and destruction they had endured as the years went by. The wedding was a quick one, though Tony Stark and his own father didn't fully approve of it until a little while later. It didn't matter to him, though, since he had found something in his life he truly wanted to protect from harm.

When the idea of time travel came up, it was first thought that maybe he could be the one to go back in time, but that idea was shot down. He could only go so far backwards, but there was someone else who could, and that was one of the newbies to the mutant underground Thalia Maehers. Beast had created the serum for the most part, however there was one ingredient missing, so he and Folly Valeska went out to retrieve it. He had tried insisting on going, but they shot him down, and he regretted that final decision. Beast lost his life getting the final ingredient for the serum that would boost Thalia's powers. The what ifs started piling up in his mind, but there was no time for that, they had to race and stop their present from ever happening.
