Reylan listened attentively to Shiba's words, nodding at the end to show his agreement "I haven't had lunch yet so why don't we stop in a diner and talk there?" He suggested with a smile, if Shiba needed help he would be more than ready to listen. He smiled a bit as it seemed that Reylan was willing to talk about what he would need. Shiba only hoped that he would be able to convince him for the loan. Then Shiba got a message from river asking about another quest so he said to Reylan " that sounds good to me. I'll let you pick the place" Shiba then typed a back a pm and sent it to river saying "sorry gonna take a raincheck on that. Busy with Reylan he then sent it before gesturing for Reylan to lead the way to whichever place he felt like eating. "Cool, there is a place nearby I think." He said as he opened his menu to both look at the map and to send a PM to Alisea stating he might be a little delayed. Just as he sent it, he received one from Xenos talking about the night watch quest. Quickly he responded as he walked along to a place called "The Gilded Hearth.", it was on the way to the library and should provide a decent place for conversation. Reylan led Shiba inside and they were seated a window-side table immediately, a slim blonde female dressed in a red gown with a white apron stood above them with a bright smile on her face "Welcome to The Gilded Hearth! Can I get you two something to drink?" she asked with a bubbly quality about her "Uh, a water please!" Reylan responded though he wished they had soda. After Shiba had told her what he wanted and she left, Reylan spoke to him "So what is it that you need the guild's help for?" He asked directly.
Great! Shiba has to talk with me about something then I'll be right over!
He nodded as he said there was a place close by and followed him. They found themselves at a place called gilded hearth and were promptly seated by a window. When their waitress asked for their drink he asked for the same not really interested in anything heavier since his stomach was in knots over what he would ask. He would be asking for a large sum from the guild he only just joined after all so he was a bit on edge. When he came out with it and asked what he needed the guilds help for he sighed to keep himself calm. He then smiled before saying "I find myself in need of money. It's not that I'm broke honestly it's because I wanted to start a business. Now before you say no just hear me out, this is still early in the game and a player made business would do much better then businesses run by npcs. I have 10 thousand in my possession, what I'm asking for is for the guild to provide the last 5 thousand I need to buy property and the workshop outside of the city walls. If you do then I'll be able to have a constant flow of money pouring into the guild and stand to make more in the long run. All I would need are ingredients like iron and leather. I know this seems like a lot but I will make the business a success and help the guild grow bigger in the future with said revenue" he said hoping he gave a good sales pitch. He never did this before and was worried he forgot to include something or say how well it will work in the long run Reylan remained silent for the entire duration of Shiba's explanation of his plan, a look of intrigue located in his expression. If they could secure the iron mine contract, that would provided a lot of resources for both the shop and Xenos's crafting needs. Hell they could even sell stuff Xenos makes at the shop. He was however hesitant on funding a shop that would be opening on the first floor, but he figured with a little advertising it would gain some customers. Also, he was unaware of any other players starting such a business yet so it might be a good idea to start soon. His hand gripped his chin as he thought carefully about this, 5000 renn would mean the majority of the guild's current funds. The waitress came by with his water and he placed his order, a seasoned pork cutlet with some potatoes and cooked carrots. Finally, he spoke "I can see that you are pretty confident about this, I just wish that you would have come to me before you drew out the loan." He stated with a deceptive small frown on his face "That being said, If I am to give you this amount of money then 40% of the profits will go to the guild. I am working on an contract with the council to secure some iron already, so that will provided as well. Would that be acceptable?" He stated, his tone sounding like the leader he strived to be. Shiba could hear his heartbeat in his ears from how anxious he was. He didn't know if his plan would work but the fact of the matter was that this would pay for itself in no time. So many players will look for weapons made a player like him more often then they would a npc. The benifits far outweighed the cost to make it happen. When the waitress came by he shook his head not wanting anything. He would be paying for an entire workshop after all and soon he finally gave him an answer. Shiba couldn't help the nervous laugh that escaped him when he said that he wished Shiba came to him first before taking out a loan. He then sighed softly in relief his heart finally calming down as he agreed to it so long as the guild got 40% which was reasonable considering Shiba assumed he would want half. Hearing that he would also provide iron was a big plus to this deal so Shiba could spend his time honing his craft rather then learn how to mine himself. He smiled as he asked if that would be acceptable and Shiba held the sleeve of his kimono before holding out his hand and saying "it's a deal. You won't regret this " Shiba said waiting for him to shake his hand before taking his hand back. He then said "I'm planning to name the shop "lethal feather" and specialise in light weaponry. If someone else in the guild decides to become a Smith like me then we would need to talk about the shop as business partners. Otherwise I'm grateful you decided to take a chance on me, it means a lot boss. Though do I need to start calling you partner now?" he asked his easygoing persona starting to come back now that the hard part was over with. Reylan nodded as he took Shiba's hand and firmly shook it, smiling kindly as he said brightly "I know I won't." He pulled his hand back and leaned back in his chair as he heard the name for the shop "I like the name, sounds pretty cool. I know you will come through Shiba."As a leader, Reylan believed it was good to place trust in those you were in charge of. Also, he genuinely believed Shiba would do well with his shop. He rubbed the back of his neck as he nervously laughed "I'd prefer it if you just call me Reylan." He wasn't entirely comfortable with being called by some title just yet, though he figure he would have to eventually as the guild got bigger "I suppose you could go on your way if you want, I'll be meeting with Alisea after this." He informed Shiba as he sent him the funds he requested. He smiled glad that he decided to put so much confidence in him as it spoke volumes about him as a guild leader. When he said he liked the idea of the shop name Shiba was a bit proud of himself since he knew it would certainly get people's attention. When he said to just call him Reylan Shiba laughed a bit and said "sorry it's force of habit. I don't usually use first names he admits with a smirk. When he got the money he needed from Reylan he nodded and said "yeah their is a bunch of logistical stuff that I need to deal with on my end like getting the land, all the equipment and so on. Afterwards I will be waiting for the iron deal to happen before actually smithing. Great talking with you Reylan I'll send you a pm when I got the place up and running" he said before he stood gave him a soft nod and left to go and buy the land since he knew the perfect place not far from the main road into the city that would be perfect for a shop

Once Reylan had gotten his food, he finished it relatively quickly. He didn't wish to keep Alisea waiting any more than he already had. He had to admit it felt good being addressed as the leader and being asked for help. After all that is what he really wanted, to help everyone get through this alive and make the crazy adventures not suicidal at the very least. After a bit of navigating, Reylan entered the library and was kind of amazed at the amount of books around, he wasn't really that much of a bookworm so he didn't go inside libraries often outside of college. It had been easy enough to find but now he had to find her. It took a few moments but he eventually spotted her and walked up, knowing that shouting across the room would have been discouraged "Hey there, How's the uh, reading going?" He decided to ask, voice soft as to not disturb others. "Nightmarish," Alisea answered with a grin. To demonstrate, she pulled what looked to be "The Little Red Hen" off the shelf. She flipped it open to the first page and handed it to Reylan so he could view the foreign script. Slashes and squiggles flowed along the bottom of the page beneath the large and colorful pictures. "Most of the books here are written like that; only a small and very bland portion come in our alphabet--texts like instructions and manuals." He took the book without question and looked down at the pages, strangely enough he could recognize a few of the words but most of the text was gibberish to him "Yep, looks like mostly nonsense to me. That's gotta be frustrating." He grinned as he handed it back to her, feeling a little silly that he couldn't read what had to be a children's book "Anyway, about that thing I wanted to give you..." He went through his menu and took out Renn totaling 150 and extended it to her with a half-smile "It's about time I paid off that loan I think." He spoke happily. Alisea looked at the proffered coins in surprise. "You remembered that? It seems so long ago," she laughed, not taking the coins yet. "At the beginning, when 150 renn felt like a fortune..." A somber cloud passed over Alisea's features. For a moment she was lost in her thoughts, but quickly the moment passed. She reached out and retrieved the coins. "Thank you, Reylan." He laughed sheepishly "I was actually afraid you'd come hunt me down for it eventually." It did seem like ages since that day, everything was different now "It still is in my book, but now we can afford it I guess." A 150 renn was enough for 30 arrows at least. A puzzled look took ahold of his features as he noticed the somberness grow in her eyes. At last however, she took the coins and he was relieved of his debt to her. This one at least. "No need to thank me, I'm only doing the right thing. Besides, I should be thanking you and Aster for yesterday, I really needed that." He smiled brightly. Alisea gave him a knowing smile. "So did she, I think," the magess muttered. Then, more loudly, "You should invite her out again; she enjoys opportunities to use her sword." Reylan thought he just caught the end of Alisea saying something but figured it must have been his imagination "So I have noticed" He laughed a little. "You think I should? She always gets quiet when its just the two of us." "And?" Alisea answered simply, as though silence was nothing concerning. "You will have fun." A sheepish smile came over his lips "Ah good point. I will definitely consider it!" He stated, perhaps going a quest together would be good. Aster seemed to loosen up when fighting monsters. "Well I got more tasks to do today, so I have to get going. I'll see you later then?" He still needed to go the council to talk about the iron mines contract. With luck, they'll agree to it if they do the quest and beat the dungeon. She chuckled at the question. "Paying that debt hardly ends our ties. See you back at the inn!" "I would be disappointed if it did!" With that, he wished her goodbye and went on towards the City Council's building.

When Reylan arrived at the City Hall, the council member he had sent a message to was waiting for him. He had changed into his fancy clothing to give a stronger first impression, to let the council member know he was serious. "You must be Mr. Cainhart, what a pleasure to finally meet you in person!" He stated as he approached the well-groomed man, extending his right hand as his invitation to conduct business. Mr.Cainhart smiled dimly at him and took his hand, the handshake firm and brief "The pleasure is mine. You must be Mister Reylan. The guild-master of the Legion of the Wolf, if I am correct?" His expression was gentle yet serious, the flow of his speech befitting one of his station. Reylan nodded "It is. The Legion of the Wolf is grateful towards the council for this opportunity." His tone one of respect. Cainhart chuckled softly "Nothing is decided just yet so hold your gratitude. The council has chosen me to hear your proposal, and determines if it is within our interests.". Reylan was very nervous at this point, though he hid it well. Securing this contract would benefit them more than it would the council, but he couldn't let that be known "Of course. I hope you will see how this proposal is mutually beneficial." It might be a hard sell, but he would not leave this meeting without something. Cainhart smiled dimly once more "Please, follow me inside and to my office so that we may formally go over the details." Reylan moved to the door and held it open for the councilman "After you.". The two walked up a grand staircase to the second floor of the city hall, silence befalling them until they entered Cainhart's office and sat down in red-cushioned chairs on opposite ends of a heavy, reddish-brown desk. Cainhart placed his elbows onto the desk, his fingers intertwining as sharp, cunning eyes looked over them. A kind smile displayed as he spoke "Now then, please tell the entirely of your proposal if you would. I wish to hear every detail." Reylan kept his expressions controlled, not letting it be known that he was slightly intimidated by the man "But first..." His fingers broke their lock and his right hand reached under his desk. A bottle of wine and two fine glasses were pulled from below, and settled on top of the desk "Would you care for a drink? I find it makes negotiations far less tense." Cainhart looked at him expectantly. Reylan had to shake his head "Thank you for the offer, but I will have to refuse." He said as politely as he could. The councilman looked at him for a moment with a look of minor disappointment "That is a shame, it is very good wine. Please proceed then." Cainhart spoke while pouring the dark, velvet liquid into the crystal glass. "Very well. The Legion of the Wolf hereby extends this proposal for a contract between the guild and the council over the protection of the iron mines..." Reylan went into as much detail as he could about what he hoped to achieve and what he was seeking in return. Councilman Cainhart didn't just listen however, he often probed with questions about the contract. In the end, Reylan was not able to secure the contract right there but was given a deal that was satisfactory "Your offer is tempting, Mister Reylan, but I am afraid I can not accept it at this moment. The council needs proof that you are capable of the job you are advertising." Cainhart began "It is because of your success at Hill's Sorrow that I am willing to in turn extend this deal. If you complete the current quest we have posted and conquer the dungeon near the iron mines, you will have your contract." This was as much as Reylan expected. "If you find yourself in possession of more manpower, I will be willing to make the deal a little more lucrative in return for constant protection." He stated in such a way that indicated he was finished with what he had to say just then. "I understand very well your hesitation to approve this contract. My guild will be heading to the dungeon the day after the Solace Festival. The next day I will return with news of our success." Reylan said quite confidently as he slowly stood up "Thank you Mister Cainhart for your time, the next time we meet I hope you will be ready to sign that contract." He extended his hand to the councilman once more. Cainhart's lips moved into a broader smile as he stood and shook Reylan's hand "I look forward to our next meeting and tales our your success. I wish you luck on your adventures." Amicable farewells were exhcanged and Reylan left the City Hall with a smile on his face. He may not have secured the contract right then, but he had laid the groundwork for future success.
[@Achronum][@Haruhi43][@Trainerblue192][@Tybalt Capulet] Reylan noticed that the sky had gotten dark and a quick glance at the time confirmed his thoughts that it was nearly time for the night watch quest. It would appear that visiting Data 66 would have to wait for another day, as he didn't want to miss the chance to get to know his fellow guild members better. He visited a shoppe on the way to the quest location and purchased some food and drink for later while also grabbing something to snack on now. By the time he reached the spot, everyone else was already present. Guess his little side-stop made him a tad late to the party. "Not a bad turn-out I think." He said as he approached them "Hey there, Aster..River..Xenos..Chari. I hope you all had a good day?" He said brightly, it was going to be an..interesting night with the group they had right now.
