On a side note. Why would anyone in the group allow Lance to join? 

Personally I would be strongly considering kicking Lance out of the party. And since that wouldn't work kill him before he hurts anyone. I can't think of an especially good reason anyone would want to be in his company voluntarily, specifically any character I make will not want to associate with him. 

Anyone have ideas why a salvager would want to join?

(BTW I'm not saying that he is a poor quality character, certainly compelling)
