However, as Jack mauled one of the skeletons that had somehow gotten to them despite the breach being almost opposite of where they are, Gabriel already had his hands on his bow and was already preparing to defend hismelf - and others if need be. Gabriel caught the map deftly and looked back at Jack, who now had a club and a makeshift shield using the door of the tavern, and then made his way to the chaos. He tucked the map safely in his bag, which he really didn't mind carrying while in combat, and then looked at Fauve. Now, Fauve had another idea. Gabriel only caught a glimpse of what she can do, and he was obviously interested in it as he caught himself staring for half a second, and she ran off to the mass of people who were pushing - in futility - the North Gate. That's odd. Did none of the guards alert the people that the North Gate was stuck? As he was stuck in his thoughts, a skeleton raised its rusty sword against him and Gabriel jumped back. When the skeleton stumbled forward, he charged forward and sliced its head clean off with a swipe of his sword. For good measure, he crushed the skull. It was brittle, so it was easy. Gabriel headed over to follow Jack, and had an arrow prepared as he moved up. He released arrow after arrow at the ground forces while hiding behind whatever cover he could find. He spotted the rotting boar monster with archers on top of his head and Gabriel wondered how they would take that down. Ah, but they seemed to be the type to be able to do that. Now he regretted not enchanting his arrows with fire. Fire liked flesh, after all. But forget that now. Gabriel turned to support the other fighters - shooting off extra skeletons who were trying to sucker punch them with a sword - or a mace - or an axe... or well whatever they were holding. [/color]
