It might’ve been years since the two of them last saw each other and they might’ve gone through changes in their lives, which, most notably, was that both had been trained in their own, respective arts of magic, there was still a key aspect to their family’s name that demanded they take heroic action over self-preservation. In that, his brother didn’t have to think twice about telling Zes, much less say it as he was about to. In fact, Zestasia was well on his way in assisting to the overall plan that was agreed by more than just the Calore brothers. And that was saving these people and helping them get to safety. But, as much as Zestasia was on-board with that plan, it did seem like one of those ‘easier said than done’ situations. That begged the following question: how were they going to do that without the use of their magic? Even though Zestasia wasn’t exactly useless in hand-to-hand combat (as noted by how he whacked a few birds when they came), eventually his physical endurance would give out...at some point. As the madness ensued, Zestasia did what he could to aid and abed his brother, specifically covering his hide when he decided to take upon the task of protecting a woman and her child. “So, what’s the plan, huh? We can’t do this all day, Pag!” Zestasia yelled as his fists connected with a few incoming birds. Zestasia’s eyes scanned behind him before putting his footwork to good use as another wave of birds were incoming. It was same all over - or at least, that’s what Zestasia noticed when his eyes briefly scanned what they could. There weren’t enough of dutiful citizens like him and that one blonde chick--wait, where’d she go? "--kid, watch your flank!" He heard her voice shout out to him, which resulted in a shift of Zestasia’s priorities for a brief moment, causing Zestasia to get nipped by one bird, blood being drawn on his left hand. It was a minor cut, but it certainly was a rookie mistake on his part. “Fuck!” He cursed, feeling the initial pain of his flesh being torn apart. He looked over to where the sound of that blonde lady first originated from and after a moment and a half of searching, he saw her by a door. As the flock of birds persisted, after a while, Zestasia had found this to be quite the repetitive process, not to mention that what they, the Calore Brothers, were doing was starting to be a fruitless endeavor. Zestasia felt himself tiring and there was no end in sight of the birds coming at them in the hundreds. After a while, even Zestasia was thinking that retreat was in order. “Pagonia, we can’t keep this up. We have to get out of the open!” He yelled through the cluttering sounds of the birds, then as it donned on him, he was hit with an idea. “Pag, I’ll cover you. Get them over to where that blonde lady is.” Zestasia said, looking back at his brother, giving him a nod as the signal. He jumped forward, drawing the majority of the birds overhead his way to allow his brother leeway in getting that mother and her child to safety. “Now, Pagonia!”
