Back to Basics

Name: Evelyn Fraser Aliases: Lynn or Vee Age: 25 Gender: Female Tourist or Local?: Tourist

Appearance

Height: 5‘‘5 Build: Average – Lynn has to pay attention to what she eats to avoid gaining weight. She's slightly more curvy than scrawny. Hair: Red – Her hair goes below her shoulders and she usually wears it down, with some strands pinned back. Eyes: Greyish-green Distinguishing marks: Lynn has two small scars on her left eyebrow and left temple- both remnants of a car accident. There‘s a larger scar going from her left shoulder to her left upper arm – from the same accident. Her skin is rather pale and becomes freckled in summer. Style: On a normal day Evelyn usually wears tight jeans and shirts. Her clothes aren‘t the most expensive, but she doesn‘t pay much attention to her money when she spots something she likes. She often wears accessories, necklaces or bracelets. Lynn also likes wearing some make-up and usually doesn‘t go outside without eyeliner and lipstick. When she‘s at home she cares a lot less about her appearance and wears comfy clothes.

Skills & Occupation

Occupation: She's studying history and linguistics and also works part-time in a supermarket. Hobbies & interests: Historic places, travelling, drawing in her sketchbook Skills: Memorizing and drawing – especially when it comes to buildings and landscapes Supernatural Sensitivity: Medium-High

Psychology

Personality: Evelyns strongest character trait may be her curiousity and openness. As soon as something has sparked her interest she‘ll try to investigate it and find out the deeper meaning behind it. Even though Lynn isn‘t naive - and totally capable of being sceptical - she‘s also more willing to believe unlikely facts and stories than others are. The reasons for her open-mindedness can be linked to her own experiences in the past. At the same time Lynn can be stubborn and wilful. Once she has set a goal for herself there‘s not much that can be done to change her mind. She doesn‘t like arguing and while she‘s not completely immune to logical reasoning she preferes acting according to what she feels is right. If someone tries to make her act against her principles, Lynn becomes hotheaded and won‘t step down until the other side backs off. Even though she can be intense, she‘s also somewhat dreamy and absent-minded at times. If a stranger keeps going on about topics that bore her, her mind will quickly occupy itself with more exciting things. Evelyn usuallly won‘t tell people what‘s going on in her head, unless she has known them for some time. On the other hand she can be an open book. Her thoughts and feelings are obvious to the people she‘s close with. Bio: Born as an only child in a middle class family from Aberdeen, Lynn had a somewhat normal childhood. Her affinity to ancient places became obvious when her father, an archaelogist and anthropologist, took her to the many old castles and stone circles of Scotland. Sometimes she was even allowed to accompany him on his journeys to far away countries. The obsession with these locations made her one of the less popular children in school. During classes she would often enthusiastically tell the other kids stories about where she had been in her dreams, but sooner or later everyone she could possibly talk to became annoyed with her and left. Despite this, Lynn managed to make some friends, though she quickly learned to avoid mentioning her favourite subject. Due to the lack of alternative ways to express her fascinations, she started putting them on paper. One of the greatest shocks of her life happened to Lynn when she was 11 and her father died in an airplane crash. The death of one of the few persons capable of understanding her still weighs heavily on Evilyn's shoulders. Only 3 years later, Lynns mother remarried and they moved to London. Evelyn never got along with her stepfather and she never forgave her mom for leaving Scotland and marrying another man. Having left behind her childhood friends in Aberdeen, Evelyn became an outsider in school and entered what she calls her rebellious phase. Without leaving behind notes, she often left for road trips to seemingly random places. Something she couldn‘t describe always called her in her dreams to those old castles, mansions and fabric halls. Meeting her first boyfriend Ian in college, the calls seemed to have stopped – or at least it became easier for her to ignore them. Her studies in history and linguistics were going well and she became one of the more sucessful students. Until the car accident with her boyfriend happened and changed everything again. Ian died in the car crash and Lynn barely survived. Trying to recover from the emotional aftermath, Evelyn paused her studies and went on vacation. After several dreams about a strange lighthouse, she made the unconscious decision to visit a small town called Rawyn. Weaknesses & Fears: Blood – Seeing others injured makes her feel particularly queasy and unwell. Needless to say that she doesn‘t like horror movies at all. Flashbacks – Breaking glass. Flashing headlights. Things which remind her of the accident will pull her back to this moment. Paralysis – Lynn often freezes when confronted with stressful situations. Unfocused – Evelyn starts thinking a lot less clearly when she comes closer to a supernatural site she has formed a connection with. What exactly those distractions are depends on the kind and magnitude of the spiritual presence, ranging from a wandering, relaxed mind to migraines and cluster-headaches.
