The same could be said when their feet is covered in ice. And if a Geomancer gets the initiative, the Psychomancer would have to decide to either try to counter with a spell, or get bashed in the head by a rock. Psychomancer magic isn't Instant, and they don't have any means to protect themselves once an attack has already begun, magically. What Psychomancer has to do to defeat an opponent requires focus, planning, needing to find the weakness of the enemy, but everyone else have a much more direct means getting the job done. Psychomancy is not a "Simple" class to master, more so if you plan to have any combat applications. It might be killer in a court meeting, but once swords have been drawn you'd find that it is difficult to try to manipulate someone's mind when you have to worry about not getting skewered for your troubles.
