After going through the ranks, he made a big bust that involved the arrest of some associates of the Castillo family, he earned himself a promotion in 2017 to detective. Colin has never been a hard man to spot or know. The same could be said about his fashion sense. While most men would take care in how they look; and that might be the case, at times, for Colin, he doesn't need much to look fashionable. At most, he might go out of his way to look presentable. No self-respecting man would want to look like a slob, so, of course, he will use the necessary beauty care products. Beyond that, there's not much to him. His wardrobe is rather simple. In it, you'll find a collection of basic-shaded jeans ranging from onyx black to olive green and your typical blue jeans. He's got a collection of dress shirts (ranging from the long sleeve and short), some casual wear that's fashionable for a man such as Colin. The thing that might pique one's interest, especially that of someone who might be interested in him romantically or otherwise, would be a single, burgundy-colored, leather jacket that always goes with any outfit he may feel like trying out.  

Aside from that, however, you won't find much else.  There's a collection of watches and general necklaces in his dresser. Colin is a man who likes his watches.

[indent]Colin is a...difficult man. His emotions run high and sometimes that produces odd behavior. Not odd enough to get him kicked off the force, though there have been times that his job was on the line after he found himself to be too emotional in some cases; however, more often than not, he's simply the kind of guy that acts with his fists rather than his brain. He's brilliant in every sense of the word, but with great brilliance comes great instability. Here you have a man with all the potential to climb up the ranks of the Salem Police Force, yet, you also have a man whose very potential is drowning in his own demons.

In all Irishmen, emotions run high. At home and at work; in his home country and where his ancestors lived, being a man with the temper to match his demons is, if nothing else, atypical for someone of his lineage. There are times when Colin is unable to control himself. There is also a time where, if not moderated by someone who truly knows him, might find out just how much of his demons have taken control. 

Not everything is horrible, though. Colin isn't without his pros. It's been noted that he's quite the passionate man. Maybe this plays to his emotions, but when he focuses on something, it's hard to take it away. He throws his entire soul into it and, though it might raise some eyebrows for how obsessive he gets, this is one of the sides of Colin that isn't all that bad. Does everyone love someone who is passionate about things close to them, right? Well, Colin likes to think so.

[color=00a86b]Upbringing[/color][hr]
[indent] The history of the Bradys and Hortons is, if nothing else, quite legendary. They were the first families that not only settled in Salem and established a small colony, but they were the only ones to establish their legacy in Salem's history books. They took pride in raising their offspring with honor, integrity, and above all else, the right values to shape them into the people who'd be the next generation; and though this might appeal to a lot of the descendants of the greats that founded Salem, not everyone lived up to the hype and not everyone fit the bill.

This couldn't be any truer for the eldest son of the current generation of parents of the Brady family, Colin Shawn Brady. There was so much hope and expectations for him, though his parents would never go out of their way to say it, Colin knew he disappointed them. Unlike the Hortons, who wouldn't dare express any form of shame in their children, the Bradys, though a little less accepting, still had their own version of this approach to parenting. They believed in giving their children any and all opportunities. And as the eldest, Colin was afforded opportunity after opportunity. As he grew up, his chances grew slimmer and slimmer. He didn't fail out of high school, but he barely passed. Added to his struggles to live up to the hype, he gave into drugs and alcohol as a way to cope with the rising expectations he would hear every corner he turned:

After a while, something had to give. Either Colin was going to live up to everything that he was forced into or he was going to crack under the pressure. 

Care to guess what it was that happened? Here's a hint. By college, Colin found his breaking point. After going from dead-end job after dead-end job, Colin literally found himself going crazy and, as he went in for his final day on the job at Java Cafe, he not only was fired, he was arrested for assault as he had beat his then-boss to a bloody pulp. Though charges were never officially filed due it being his first offense and he agreed to a sort of, unofficial, agreement with the prosecution to go to anger management therapy and, after it was completed, he'd attend daily meetings with a court-appointed therapist to get to the root of the problem. 

All of this happened before he turned 21. At some point, he found clarity and, as a result, a new purpose. With that, a new career came to him in the form of joining the Salem Police Force. He graduated from the academy, served a few years as a b-cop, and now serves as partner with his cousin. 

Colin had a long road, but his life was finally turning around. He was attending Narcotic Anonymous meetings daily, reports to his sponsor daily, and he takes his bipolar medicine as appointed by his doctor. So, why after going through all that hell and getting everything in order, did shit have to go sideways? Why did the Castillo Family have to get him into their pocket...

✓  Colin suffers from Bipolar disorder. He is on a regular schedule that has him taking his antipsychotic meds daily.
