Case in point being the latin motto of the United States: E pluribus unum - from many, one. Why should society wish for the unity of those who comprise it while at the same time putting the tribes of man at the throats of one another? Perhaps it is the way of man to fight amongst himself, though he strives in his heart for something greater.
