“work is fine. not much happening aside from paperwork. LOL.” A pause. Pale eyes lifted from the phone screen, skirting around their surroundings. For a moment, Dawn could have sworn that the world had almost...skipped for a moment. Like a record scratching. The moment passed just as quickly as it had come, however, and after briefly watching to see if anything else would happen, Dawn continued typing, thumb dancing from one letter to the next. “is he still making those burned eggs? im surprised that he hasnt gotten a health code violation yet. see you at home. :) Dawn” After a second of thought, she added a gif of a Shibu Inu going down a children’s slide, a look of pure terror on its face. Jojo would probably like it. With that done, she slid her phone back into the safety of her pocket, head down as she continued down the sidewalk. She hadn’t gone far before her phone buzzed again. Instead of Jojo’s name titling the message, however, this one read “UNKNOWN”. A brand new number, and a brand new conversation. All that was said was simply, “‘Through me the way is to the city dolent. Through me the way is to eternal dole; Through me the way among the people lost.’” Without hesitation, Dawn quickly rattled off a reply. “‘Justice incited my sublime Creator; Created me divine Omnipotence, The highest Wisdom and the primal Love.”’ The message was read, and then shortly after, Dawn found herself blocked by the messenger. She deleted the conversation not long after, moving even faster through the warm light of the sun. There wasn’t too long of a walk that she needed to call a taxi or the like, and she found herself enjoying the pleasant warmth of the day as she trekked her way home. Jojo would probably already be home by now. It was a rare occurrence that she ever arrived before he did. The rest of the trip passed without event. She checked in with the keycard, gave a smile and nod to one of the other building inhabitants she passed, and, upon reaching her apartment, unlocked the door and slipped inside. Dawn had barely shut the door behind her when a blur of black fur came crashing into the wall in front of her, shook itself off from the impact, and came bounding at her. Beaming, Dawn lowered herself to Iggy’s level, running her hands along the collie’s neck and crooning at him. He really was a sweet dog. Not the brightest, admittedly, but a good boy nonetheless. After doting on him for a minute or two, Dawn stood, brushing the fur from her skirt and glancing about in search of her roommate. “Jojo? I’m home.” [@Kuroakuma]
