Harper is a self-proclaimed periphery rat that somehow, quite miraculously, managed to snag a coveted position at one of the most prestigious military academies in the Inner Sphere. 

To the great chagrin of more than one aristocratic classmate hoping that she would wash out, Harper has thrived at the NAIS and even manged to convince her instructors that she might be something of a MechWarrior prodigy. The young woman is a natural pilot, showing a talent for high speed gunnery, deft maneuvers, and pushing her BattleMech far beyond its rated performance envelope.

Unsurprisingly, she prefers to pilot BattleMechs that let her go really, really fast and she often jokes that she should have been an Aerospace Fighter pilot instead of a MechWarrior.

Harper is in her fourth and final year at the NAIS and is doing her best to angle for a job as a test pilot, having long since realized that military discipline isn't her bag, but having the tragic misfortune of being far too poor to possess her own BattleMech.

How exactly the quartermaster of the 1st Cadre Company managed to acquired a souped up Free Worlds Defense Industries Wolverine 7M is a question far beyond Harper's pay grade, but she's more than happy to take charge of a state-of-the-art BattleMech free of charge.

Sporting an XL engine and all the MASC that a girl could want, the WVR-7M can push speeds of 108km/h, a terrifyingly fast speed for a medium Mech.

Twelve double heat sinks keep the Black Cat purring and running cool even when Harper fires an alpha strike. Two Diverse Optics Sunbeam ER Large Lasers are installed in the right arm, paired with two fashionable head mounted Magna 400P medium pulse lasers. 

For close range work, the 7M has a friendly and powerful SRM-6 installed.

Five Northrup 120000 jump jets, two in each leg and a fifth in the rear torso, help the BattleMech to soar and Harper takes a great deal of pleasure in using the vertical against her foes.

Durable, especially for its weight, the WVR-7M is a good choice for a pilot as occasionally reckless as Harper.
