She was glad Min had gone without much of a fight, too. It made her life easier though she’d need to speak with him soon enough. When they reached the back area that she didn’t normally visit, not being a smoker herself, Tuyen fidgeted a bit while trying to force herself to calm down. She caught something out of the corner of her eye and jumped ever so slightly, but quickly calmed down as she realised it was just the bush moving in the wind. Not something that didn’t exist. Way to go make yourself look paranoid, Tuyen. She mentally berated herself as she went to lean against the wall beside Justin. Relax, it was a conversation with someone she was close to. It would be fine. “Yeah, it’s been tough,” Tuyen shrugged with a somewhat weak smile. “I understand, and anyway I’m the one who hasn’t been responding to your texts. If anything I owe the explanation.” So she’d seen some of them, just hadn’t really gotten around to replying. It didn’t help that Min texted almost every day. “I guess I can’t really pretend to be okay, can I?” She laughed slightly at that. Oh yeah, she definitely wasn’t okay. Seeing things and her shadow literally moving? Yeah, maybe going a bit crazy was a better way to describe how she was feeling. Didn’t mean she knew how to explain – or wanted to. How did you tell someone that you were seeing things without them referring you to a therapist? She did not want that. So, instead she did what she always did – deflecting and concentrated on her concern for the other person. “But anyway, I imagine it’s been harder on you. You were right in the middle of it, weren’t you? I just kind of got dragged from place to place by Min… and that’s sticking with me enough. So many people saw worse…” If there was one thing Tuyen was good at, it was belittling her own problems. What? They’d just been doodling away during the conversation, finding it easy enough to knock together a quick sketch. Butterflies weren’t hard to draw really. They’d finished when there’d been a lull in the conversation before inspecting the drawing. They don’t know what had prompted them to do it but they’d tapped it with the finger… only for it to go into the paper. Then their whole hand as they pulled out a butterfly. That wasn’t normal. “Guys, I think I just pulled a butterfly out of my fucking drawing,” Rien turned to face Jordan and Kimberley with their mouth slightly agape, letting the now empty piece of paper fall on the floor. “You saw that, right? I’m not going crazy… that is the butterfly I drew?”
