[u]Personality[/u]: At a glance the boy is timid and soft, unfit for the dangers of the Abyss or even so much as a scrap in the back alleys. This is mostly true. Kai is strong and knows that he is strong but defies that part of him yearning to appease the will of his family 'tradition' that strength can keep your loved ones together. For Kai it is that very strength that burdens his mind as he dwells on the wise words his father speaks often.

Then there is his other half. Forced into a corner with nowhere to hide and nowhere to run, even the smallest creatures will fight. Kai is relentless when he stops being 'himself' with the help of a hand crafted mask, abandoning his gentle ways in favor of the violent path his brothers forced upon him. It is his way of coping with the harsh reality that is life as the youngest brother in a war for a title he has been pushed into fighting for.

[u]Background[/u]: Thalandeur is not a widely known name. They have done nothing special. Seen nothing new. Delved nothing extraordinary. The master of the house is wealthy and that is all most people choose to focus on. With the head of the family falling further into illness it has come down to the many siblings to squabble for the title when their father dies.
Kai is the sixth born child, the youngest of all brothers. The oldest is nearly 24. The next closest to Kai is nearly 19. 

The Thalandeur home is filled with discipline. Strength of arm [i]for the good[/i] of your family. Strength to protect your loved ones. In the years since its decline the discipline has changed to survival of the fittest and long may they reign. Every one of Kais older siblings are little more than brainless apes slugging each other for the glory of a title crumbling below their feet. Caught in this mess is the youngest punching bag, Kai.
Determined not to have another rival for the title of Head of House, the youngest sibling was beaten often in private. Humiliated. Treated as inferior. At one point he was pinned to the floor as his eldest brother carved a 6 into the boys chest, a reminder of his place. Kai still resents the treatment he received at their hands, working himself to an early grave to close to gap in their strengths rarely to any avail. What little time he spends for himself is dedicated to working with his hands. A creative muse to distract him from the oppression surrounding his home life.

One such item was inspired by his father. The deeds and lessons of the past told from the view of his mother had inspired him to who the head of the family should be. Had to be. A promise was made as the last details were etched into his most sacred possession. 

With the mask covering his face he would not be Kai. Not the weak willed little boy cowering from his brothers. Not the frail boy spending his time sewing clothes and sculpting statues from blocks of wood. With this new face he would be stronger and crueler than any of his brothers. 

The rules of the contest had been laid bare. Whoever could delve furthest into the abyss and return would be the new Head. 

[u]Talents[/u]: Kai is dedicated to crafting things with his hands. If you can think it, he can carve it. If you can imagine it he can sew it. The same goes for how he acts in a fight. With the mask on, the boy is ruthless.
