To him , madness seems the best way to do this currently. Surely the winner of a madness induced riot will be the strongest? A artist sent to the depths of insanity will surely produce something far more interesting than any sane mind and a hunter who can wrestle a beast to death with his bare hands is obviously highly capable. To mortals he may seem to drain their sanity with his very presence, from there those that hear his whispers will be tested in a battle of wills, the weak submitting to him but the strong staving off his maddening whispers. He may often even make nature itself pose as his challenge by goading the earth into suffocating plant life or local predators to become more aggressive.

Aʟɪɢɴᴍᴇɴᴛ
Chaotic Neutral
Pᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ
Grumju could easily be described as insane due to his behavior however he would see himself as a perfectionist,he giggles in glee at the failings of others but will just as easily applaud them for their success. He is fascinated by his fellow Gods along with their creations and delights in how they deal with problems. To this end he is happy to assist his fellow God's in their own projects but also takes great joy in presenting challenges to them after their project is complete to test it. He is not generally jealous or petty and will rarely hold a grudge if his plots are ruined. Grumj loathes cheaters and thinks that they are dull, why ruin all the fun for something as trivial as victory? Even if a challenge he set himself was to wipe out his own creations, he would prefer to let them be destroyed and start anew than 'cheat' and continue working with a weak creation. Simply put, Grumju is a gleeful little troublemaker who would see the greatest of the God's creations be pushed forwards through difficulty and innovation.
Gᴏᴀʟs
Grumju wishes to push mortal things (and to a lesser degree his own fellow deities) into greatness through the innovation that can only be found in great difficulty. He would ravage weak civilizations with pestilence and madness to push them closer to greatness. If they all die? No matter, he can always allow a new civilization to form and try again at a later date and perhaps even assist the creator of their race in making them even closer to perfection. He is just as happy to challenge individuals on a personal basis if they take his notice, bestowing blessings paired with strange curses and observing how they conquer the challenge set before them.
Aᴘᴘᴇᴀʀᴀɴᴄᴇ
While Grumju may take the form of anything from a swarm of locusts to a stone statue, he usually appears in the form of a small impish creature with horns protruding from his head and a mouth full of razor sharp teeth that always seem to on show thanks to a taunting grin.

Mᴜsɪᴄᴀʟ Tʜᴇᴍᴇ
https://youtu.be/FcEizDACxNk

Piranha like creatures that work in swarms and will attack from below, using their black top half as camouflage before returning lower in the water to rest and become relatively passive until they grow hungry again, at which point they grow erratic and aggressive (The same tactic is used in shallow water but is obviously not very effective). Their teeth will constantly grow throughout their life and will only be whittled down when biting on bone, these can lead to some sastuk having huge teeth compared to their usual body size, which is at an absolute maximum about a foot in length but most will probably reach about half of that. Born in the shallow ocean by the beach of the God's, these fish will swim out into open ocean when their swarm reaches a sufficient size

Trees full to the brim with Ley infused with chaotic energy, they serve as a source of souls in the Plains of Madness for mortals. Spores leave the tree through slits in the tree and will either land on a deposit of Grem crystals and begin growing (it takes about a month for the bark to form naturally making it vulnerable to storms and creatures that feed off the spores). The Grem crystal deposits server as an energy source for the trees due to the barren nature of the plains. These crystals do not permanently run out of energy but regenerate energy slowly meaning there can usually be only one tree per deposit of crystals on average.

Small and mischievous like their creator, imps were initially created to serve as defenders for the crystal root trees against any mortals who may try to go near them. Imps are not naturally aggresive to other mortal races and may even befriend them , except if they attempt to go near their home tree without their (or Gremju's) consent. Imps are also naturally resistant to the passive effects of Grem crystals and the spores produced by Crystal root trees which allows them to consume the spores as a food source. Despite their territorial nature, many imps may feel a wanderlust and be tempted to leave their home tree to explore other places whether that be a new corner of the Plains of Madness or new lands entirely. Imps are also naturally attuned with chaotic magics meaning they could become potent magic wielders if only they were aware and taught how to use the magic (currently they have essential no magical capacity outside of rough chaos bolts that only serve to terrify or confuse rather than enlighten to their true potential

'gifted' by Gremju to all mortals created/born after this point with a chance of developing or being born with a damaged mind. While this can lead to violence and other forms of anti-social behavior it can also serve as inspiration for creators and generally a different view of existence. There is also a lower chance mortals will hear the whispers of Gremju beckoning them to the Plains of Madness.

A highly volatile form of magic that only those with an affinity for mayhem would consider using. In a raw form chaos magic is highly erratic and can do anything from instantly obliterating the target or healing them. In a raw form it is easy enough to wield but using for more complex spell casting is more difficult and dangerous, if handled poorly the chaotic energy summoned for a spell may lash out at anyone nearby and cause who knows what to happen. Even Gremju himself cannot control exactly what chaotic magic does and attempting to control it on a large scale alone be a draining task even for him. Currently thee only race capable of using chaos magic are imps, although interested mortals are welcomed to try it and the Challenger will freely link their souls to the Grem crystals, although this has a direct effect on their mind and soul if they use it continuously.

Grem crystals- A purple crystal infused with Gremju's energy that causes mortals withing a nearby area to gradually go insane over the course of several days. This crystal can be distilled to create a liquid that temporarily increases intelligence. This substance is only found in the planes of madness with a very large amount of it in the middle and small quantities appearing in the area around the plains albeit shattered into pieces on the hard earth.

A powerful divine artifact created by Gremju as a method of controlling chaos magic more easily and allowing him to use it more easily on a larger scale than before, in terms of power it is essentially on the same level as a typical divine weapon, allowing him to deflect blows with blasts of raw energy or physically/mentally destroy opponents. If the ring somehow ended up in the hands of a mortal it would give them access to immense power but casting anything that requires too much energy would likely shatter their mind [s]or body[/s], assuming that didn't happen the moment they put the ring on of course.
