Hey, guys! So, I'm not sure if anyone knows of this table top, but it's really fun. I came across it recently and have introduced my real life D&D group to it. I love it a lot and am kind of obsessed and I thought it might be fun to do one online as well. So, I will say that nobody needs to know what this game actually is I will give everyone a quick overview of the rules if people are actually interested in doing this campaign. To actually summerize what this table top is, it is a game where the players play as kids and these kids have monsters. The player will have complete control over the kid, but the monster will be controlled by both the GM and the player. It runs a little different from a D&D game. It uses a different rolling system, called the One-Roll Engine. For those that aren't familiar with the system it just uses a pool of d10s and it has you rolling for matched numbers rather than just high numbers. For those that want to know how the actual guide defines itself, I pasted a section from the book and it is in the spoiler below.
"Monsters and Other Childish Things is a roleplaying game about kids and the people who matter to them most—their friends, family and loved ones. And their horrifying pet monsters. Monsters is about kids because childhood is full of the most extraordinary conflicts, changes, awakenings and realizations. It’s a time when people live stories, when the wall hasn’t come down so hard between fantasy and reality; a time when finding a weird green egg in your basement seems like a real possibility. And the thing that hatches? It’s just so cute. And ugly. It’s too cugly to abandon. Childhood is a time when relationships matter in a powerful and primal way. The body remembers being utterly helpless, a babe in arms, totally dependent on love for survival. The racing monkey brain might seek independence, but it also craves contact. Because relationships are so vital, conflict really matters. The stakes are high, every day. And that’s without a giant prehuman psychic insect clinging to the ceiling and whispering suggestions about what to get your mom for her birthday while you’re trying to shop."
Now, that you know what the overall game is going to be like, I will now talk about what the campaign is. I'm going to start off with a pre made campaign. It's called Road Trip. Your characters will be going on a road trip to save the world from a cult that is trying to bring about the end of the world. If this goes well, I wouldn't mind making up my own campaigns and continuing with the group if that is something anyone wants to do. For what I'm looking in a group, I'd like to keep it small, only 2-4 players will be accepted. If I get a higher interest, I can make exceptions, but that might mean those players won't play as a kid and will instead play as someone else's monster. I'd like people that can post once a week at least. If anyone has any other questions, please feel free to ask!
