[b]Appearance:[/b] 6'1", 170 Lbs, clear white skin, deep dark eyes, sharp facial features, medium length straight black hair, usually wears black or white longcoats or dusters with black or grey shirts underneath. Average frame, no excess fat but little to no muscle definition either. His fingernails are dyed black; each nail uses a slightly different dye but this can't be noticed from a distance. No tattoos or scars.

[b]Personality:[/b] Rylian is an extremely vocal, opinionated individual that always wants to have the last word in an argument and will forcefully intervene when something that he doesn't deem right is taking place. His life philosophy is based on the core principle that one must always question and strive to refine and perfect their own moral outlook, without ever getting complacent and upholding any stance as absolute, but ALSO must have the confidence and readiness of mind to act upon their morals in the moment, even when that involves limiting the freedom and choices of others. He believes that he is nowhere near discovering "objectively perfect morality", but that it DOES exist, and IS worth striving for. Rylian may have issues making small talk or adapting perfectly to casual groups and settings - not because he is an introvert (he isn't), but because he views it as a waste of time.

Rylian can also be quite vindictive, and will very rarely forgive another for slighting him (or anybody else he cares about), but will never take revenge on an enemy by hurting those close to them; Rylian believes that knowingly causing collateral damage or bringing in unwilling third parties into an already existing conflict is one of the most abhorrent actions one can make. This often causes internal conflict, as his power has a lot of potential for unwanted collateral damage. He does not exactly hate or scorn himself for this; rather, it is a factor driving him to be more apprehensive about his actions (hence his nickname, "Choice").

[b]Power:[/b] Rylian can summon and control fire, and is also subconsciously shielding himself from flames and heat as a prerequisite. For this, he has five "modes", representing different levels of accuracy and methods of conjuring flame. Each mode has specific gestures and/or words that need to be made/spoken to access it.

[i]Melee mode:[/i] Accessed by tapping his thumbs together and uttering the word "Flare". Engulfs Rylian's hands in fire, mentally controlling its temperature. Rylian's nail polish is made of different chemical compounds that change colour from black to red or green at certain temperatures; he can as such adjust the flames by observing how his nails change in hue.

[i]Pinpoint mode:[/i] Accessed by clapping his hands together and uttering the word "Ignite". While in pinpoint mode, Rylian uses his power by focusing on as small an area as possible that he has line of sight to, then generating fire there by snapping his fingers once.

[i]Freeform mode:[/i] Accessed by tapping each nail from his left hand, starting from the thumb, with the nail of his right index finger, and uttering the phrase "I am confident that I am in a sufficiently calm state of mind to not cause unnecessary suffering". Freeform mode is just that: Rylian can freely create and move fire around him, even in places he does not have vision of, giving it whatever shape and temperature he desires, as long as he is concentrating sufficiently to remain accurate.

[i]Inferno mode:[/i] Accessed by simply saying the word "Inferno". Causes everything in a 50 feet radius around Rylian to burst into continuous flame. This is only meant as a last ditch solution for very tricky situations, as not only does it indiscriminately cause damage to property and people in a pretty wide area, but it can also harm and even kill Rylian (yes, he is completely self-shielded from fire, but he will still die of asphyxiation because all the oxygen in the area will be quickly used up).

[i]Reset mode:[/i] Accessed by softly biting his inner left cheek. Instantly extinguishes all fire in a 50 feet radius (whether it was created by Rylian or not). Reset mode is not the only mode Rylian can use to extinguish flames (transitioning from melee to any other mode will immediately extinguish Rylian's hands, and freeform mode can do it too, but requires active concentration and visualisation rather than just being an immediate, blanket stop).

While Rylian's power has innate physical limitations (out of fuel to burn, out of oxygen to use if in an enclosed space, a maximum range of 50 feet for the generation (whether it may naturally spread later or not), imagination-based limitation (especially when lacking line of sight) etc.), his greatest limiting factor is his own moral desire to use his powers sparsely and with purpose.
