Margaret Lessing
At first glance, an unassuming older lady in her early seventies. She walks slightly stiffly, with just a touch of arthritis in her knees. Her hair is white at the temples and grades through grey to its original black. It is cut short, and the back of her neck is tanned a deeper brown from years of bending over plants. She dresses in fawn trousers and short sleeved shirts, though wears a cardigan in almost all weathers as she feels the cold. Behind her gold-rimmed glasses her eyes, deep brown, are thoughtful. Naturally vivacious, in recent years she's become accustomed to having mostly just her own company, and has an air of self-sufficiency. She's never without a paperback in her handbag and will read and enjoy a good book regardless of whether it's judged 'high-' or 'low-brow'.
