[indent]Dark, thick locks of hair cascade down Mina's back and curls around her youthful face. Her skin is the color of peanut butter, and speckling her nose are freckles that are a darker brown than her skin. She'll usually cover these freckles, as well as any other blemishes, with a thin layer of concealer and foundation. She has a prominent nose and full lips that always look poised to speak something important. But her most compelling feature is her piercing brown eyes that can change from affection to aversion without notice. Mina stands at five feet and six inches tall, and weighs in at around one hundred-sixty five pounds. She is also very toned and athletic, thanks to spending a good portion of her time exercising.

Mina carries herself elegantly with good posture, long confident strides, and her head held high. Due to this and her love of high heels, she often looks taller than she really is. When smiling, you can see that she has two rows of perfectly white teeth, a slight overbite present. When it comes to her fashion sense, Mina surprisingly likes to keep it simple. When out and about, you'll usually see her wearing pants or jeans, a plain T-shirt, and a pair of sneakers or heels. When it's cold, she'll swap the T-shirt out for a solid colored sweater or wear a black, leather jacket over top of it. [indent]It is very clear that Mina is a genuinely friendly young woman. On the surface, she proves to be a very energetic and lively person. When she's with her friends she is rarely seen without a goofy grin on her face. She can be described as the bright ray of sunshine in a group, always trying her best to make others happy whether it be by giving them authentic compliments or cracking jokes. Many of her friends also describe her as adventurous and spontaneous; she's usually the one trying to get people to step out of their comfort zones and try something new. What most people don't realize, however, is how little they actually know about Mina. She has a tendency to be a bit "two-faced," and is great at socially accommodating when around different groups of people in an attempt to be liked by everyone. Some call it "fake," while Mina just calls it adapting. 


Mina's intelligence is mostly based on her determination to succeed; all throughout grade school, she has studied more than the average student in order to "stay ahead of the game," as she likes to say. She's very articulate and observant, tending to notice things about people that they may not even be consciously aware of themselves. With the aid of her eloquence, Mina is very manipulative, like her mother, and finds joy in getting others to do as she pleases. Another trait she inherited from her mother is her love for the finer things such as flashy jewelry and expensive shoes. As a result, she is a bit of a kleptomaniac and takes things without thinking. She does not like to talk about her own personal life, instead preferring to hear about the lives of everyone else. She's very blunt and straightforward, and doesn't hesitate to put someone in their place. She also has anger issues and a bunch of pent up frustration; when pushed to her limit, she will blow up at whoever is nearby.

[indent]The Thomas bloodline is fairly new compared to others, only being able to be traced back to the African slaves that had been transported to Jamaica in the early 1500's. Though not being a particularly prominent family, the Thomases did play a significant role, behind closed doors, in the abolition of slavery in the small island as well as the eventual independence of Jamaica within the British Commonwealth. The family kept a low profile ever since Jamaica gained its independence, living among the "normal" people of the island and continuing to pull strings behind the scenes. Those who know of the Thomas family know them to be a bloodline of noble, unrelenting activists and gifted illusionists. 

Mina herself was born in the bustling city of Chicago as the only daughter of Jamaican immigrants Dionne and Martin Thomas, two very powerful illusionists. Throughout her childhood years, Mina grew to be very knowledgeable about her family's history and their extraordinary abilities. In fact, when her own abilities began to manifest, her parents took it upon themselves to teach her as much as they could about how to control them. She was constantly instructed by her parents to keep her abilities under wraps so that she could live the "normal life" that they'd envisioned, but this all changed when she received an offer to attend a school where she could learn more about harnessing and controlling her magic without worrying about staying hidden. It took a great deal of convincing, but her parents eventually gave in.[/indent]
