The Justice League had been active for several years. Their membership included Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern (Alan Scott), and Robot Man. Most of them were already in their 40's, Batman was rumored to be in his 50's. The team took down threats such as Brainiac, the rogue General Eiling, Solomon Grundy and an army of the undead, a Thanagarian Cult, and dozens of others. One year ago the Justice League extended its reach and took in several new heroes to form the Justice League Unlimited. Over the course of the first several weeks the League learned about the existence of a similar group, composed of super criminals, calling themselves the Society and brought together by the devious Lex Luthor Jr.
Superman - He's the first superhero. The reason it's even called a super-hero. His career seemingly began in the 1970's, however reports indicate he may have been active as far back as WWII. Same basic powers of Superman. He makes everybody in the room wanna stand a little bit taller. A big blue boyscout to this day, he has a line he'll never cross and ALWAYS finds another way. He's pretty much the big gun of the metahuman/alien archetypes. He's only been Clark Kent the last twenty-five years or so of his life on Earth. He obviously ages slower in the universe than past incarnations. Recently killed fighting the monstrous Doomsday. - Deceased Batman - Same billionaire playboy philanthropist, his career just began in the late 90's and has lasted nearly two decades. He is to the gadgeteers and standard human heroes what Superman is to metas and aliens. The big gun. Basically picture Ben Afleck's Batman here just with more gray hair. Like gray haired Bruce in the veeeery first episode of Batman Beyond. Currently Bruce has donned an exo-suit similar to the Beyond/Batwing suits and is training a younger generation of heroes called Titans in Gotham. - Active Mentor Green Lantern - Alan Scott is the resident GL, and the ONLY GL in this universe. I'm staying away from the GLC and all the rainbow brigade Corps. His career stretches over the last decade or so and a few years back he absorbed the energies of his magic ring internalizing his power. He's the big gun of the supernatural/magic archetypes. He was based in Gotham and mostly patrolled during the day when Batman wasn't being Batman. Green Lantern retired after finding out his reformed enemy turned fiancée Thorn was pregnant with twins. Moved upstate to Jump City. - Semi-Retired/Reserve Robotman - Cliff Steele was once a racecar driver and adrenaline junkie. He jumped out of planes, served two years in the military, and was even a bouncer on a cruise ship for several months. It was to no surprise to anyone when he finally went too far and crashed an experimental NHRA racing car. His body was near completely destroyed, which is when his friends at STAR Labs Dr. Niles Caulder and Silas Stone put his brain into the body of a machine. Still ever the enthusiast he decided superheroics were in his future and took the alias Robotman [he wasn't very original]. He was a hero of Midway for several years before joining the other founding five in the Justice League. - Active Mentor Wonder Woman - Princess Diana as well as many other young Amazons lost to the dark skinned Naomi when a contest was held to send a champion out into man's world. Naomi was christened the 'Eagle of the Amazons' but at some point during her early career in WWII she was dubbed Wonder Woman by the papers in Europe. She was one of only a dozen or so active superhumans fighting for the allies before they were shut down by the governments for various reasons. She joined Batman and Superman originally forming a superhero trinity in the early 2000's before also teaming with Robotman and Green Lantern to form the JL. - Active Mentor
Present day the world is full of heroes. After the death of Superman seven months ago at the hands of the monstrous creature called Doomsday criminal activity has gone up in several countries around the world. After completing an exo-suit to compensate for the beatings his body had taken the last twenty years, Batman worked with the League in training younger metahumans and such. While the League is operated in Metropolis by Wonder Woman and Robotman, Batman trains the group he’s come to call Titans in Gotham. Green Lantern is on reserve status with a wife pregnant with twins on the way in the next two to three months, living upstate now about an hour away from Gotham in Jump City. There are several active members of the JLU as well as reserve members on call. Dozens of other costumed individuals have made themselves known over the course of the last year outside of the JLU. Central City, Coast City, Jump City, Star City, Hub City, Bludhaven, New York, San Francisco, and Midway City in America as well as Tokyo, Hong Kong, London, and the small country of Khandaq all have had dozens of reports of superhuman criminal activity with few people standing up to fight. If it isn’t obvious yet this is meant to be more of a sandbox style role-play with smaller groups already somewhat pre-established as well as a little continuity so we have something to go on. The Justice League Unlimited from games past is still somewhat cannon to a degree with Superman still being dead and the JLU only being active for roughly a year. Batman hasn’t been replaced by a shapeshifting alien though, and instead has an exo-suit similar to the Batman Beyond/Batwing suits. He’s also training a team of 16-24 year olds he dubbed the ‘Titans’ in Gotham. So similar to a MMORPG we have the more ‘social’ cities with more players in Metropolis and Gotham because of the teams, as well as people doing their own thing elsewhere. You can build heroes up before they join the JLU or Titans, or only work with others when you feel like it and do your own solo thing more often. The best part? After 5 posts in-game you have the option of a secondary character! You can have one hero in a team and run solo with the other, make yourself a buddy cop style partner in heroics ala Blue Beetle and Booster Gold, or even have a character on BOTH the JLU and Titans rosters! I just ask that at least one of them be based on a cannon or be your own reimagined cannon. The CS requirements for this will need a bit more detail. With individual character arcs and potential team-ups comes supporting characters, enemies, settings, etc. that require at least a little more info. Here’s what I’ve got so far. Anything I add later will be noted when we move closer to an OOC and IC thread.

Player Name: Basically this is at the top so I can @ tag you faster Primary Character: Who will your primary hero in this be? Remember one of your two characters needs to be either based on a cannon or a reimagined cannon for this universe! Secret Identity: Who are you under the mask? If your ID is public it should be noted! Status: This will determine your characters’ involvement in the overall RP. I’ll list the options as well as define them for this particular bit of the CS as it’s that important.
Active JLU / Active Titans Status – This means you’re primarily here to operate in a team setting with any solo or team-up adventures in the backdrop should things slow down. You’re basically ready to participate in any and all missions. Reservist JLU / Titans – This means you only work with the teams during larger storylines like end of the world/city type stuff when the big guns call for all hands on deck. You’d still be willing to participate in team missions, but not all of them. Your time is split about 50/50 and you do your own thing sometimes just as often as solo heroes. This could also be interpreted as building up to your character joining one of the established teams AFTER you do the solo thing for a bit. Solo – This is for anyone primarily wanting to work outside of the larger teams, mostly focusing on their own adventures, team-ups, as well as creating a faction of their own.
Age: How old are ya, or if you’re an alien or something odd what relative age are you? City: Which city do you protect, call home? Some DCU examples were listed above… Day Job: If you’re not a full time hero working with the League [they’re paid by sponsors as well as the government] then what do you do outside of costume? You work at S-Mart or go to school full time? Powers: Cannons, originals, doesn’t matter… DON’T GO OVERBOARD. Weaknesses: Tell us how to beat your character. Not how to defeat them short term but what attacks can hurt them and affect them like everyone else and possibly kill them. Skills: Outside of your powers what can your character do? Good with computers? Know waaaay too much about tv and movies? Good at sneaking around? Know how to fix a car? Appearance: What does your hero look like [I’ll try and make micros for anybody who wants them] BRIEF Bio: DON’T get long winded. Story Arcs: What sort of stories do you see putting your heroes into? For example, here’s what it might look like for Superman...
Men of Steel – Metallo goes on a rampage on the outskirts of Smallville and Superman has to go to his hometown to kick some metallicass. (Solo) Super Team-Up – Superman joins forces with [insert additional player’s hero] to take down Parasite at STAR Labs when everyone in the League is on mission outside of Metropolis. (Team-up) When Clones Attack – In a possible mission for the JLU, Superman is confronted with a small army of Superman clones sent by Luthor Jr. and Co. Luthor’s true motives are not known as the clones merely serve as a distraction. (Active JLU mission)
Supporting Characters: This is where you’d list anybody of note from your Story Arcs. I’ll continue to use Superman and what’s above as the example…
Men of Steel - Smallville cast: Ma and Pa Kent, Lana Lang, Metallo Super Team-Up – Parasite, additional JLU member When Clones Attack – JLU cast, Super Clones, Luthor Jr., Society members
Secondary Character: This is simply where you put down who you want as your secondary character be it original, cannon inspired, or reimagined cannon. Additional Notes: Anything else you think we should know?
You can!
This RP is something of an experiment because of the large cast, episodic team missions, and out-of-this-world scenarios. You can play as a cannon character, be based on cannons, or make a complete original within the DC universe. I'm not basing this thing on any single continuity, and much like my other games I'll just take bits from here and there to make the most entertaining RP possible. The only cannons off limits are the Justice League founders listed up top. If you wanna make your own Red Tornado or a new Vixen have at it. A new Flash? That could be cool too. Use whatever cannon you'd like, it's only unacceptable if I say it's unacceptable. Just don't make any characters tied to huge events in the comics like Blackest Night or Zero Hour and we should be okay. I feel like I should elaborate on the format a bit before getting lost in a universe of characters. As a solo hero or reservist you have much more freedom to do whatever providing it fits with the setting of the RP and mentioned in your Story Arcs section of your Character Sheets. For reservists and active JLU/Titans players there will be 'mission logs' in the opening post of the IC [providing we get there] with three different missions to play through for each team. When one mission is chosen by a group it will be removed and replaced with another mission. Missions for the teams will be created by BOTH the GM's as well as the players. In-game the JLU has been active for a year with it's extended roster. Batman's Titans of Gotham though have only been at it for a few weeks tops. So there's potential for up to a year's worth of history between JLU members. I'm gonna be an active member on one of the teams, right now though IDK which I'll go with LOL Generally I try and keep contact and collaborate on posts with other players and the Co-GM’s on piratepads as well as Discord more recently so I'll likely throw up links for those once this gets to the starting line. If you don't like collaborating with others, have diva like tendencies, or generally are disrespectful on the regular... this isn't the game for you. If you're known for writing up killer character sheets then never doing anything in-game... this isn't the game for you. Serious commitment is what I'm looking for, since currently this is the only RP I'm focusing my time on. I'm not saying nobody else can have a life or be in other RP's, just don't forget about this RP. Respect other players and respect the game and everything will be peachy. Or some other type of fruity awesomeness. - Ω
