Upon closer inspection the black marks on the page seem to be dirt or charcoal of some kind, as though rubbed off from someone's hand. The tearing likely indicates the parchment was torn in a hurry. The red stains do appear to be blood. While the handwriting on the note looks consistent it seems possible that about halfway through someone attempted to finish the note on Sheila's behalf, careful to match her handwriting as closely as possible, their strokes heavier on the page than hers had been.[/hider]

There are several routes away from the church: South heads into the market district where shops and the local tavern can be found. The guards post and the mayor's house are to the North and the trail East leads out to the city gate.
