She stands with a very slight and lithe build, but closer inspection would reveal that she is relatively toned in terms of muscle. Standing at only 5’3” and weighing 125 lbs, Allyson is certainly at disadvantage in a grapple. Her skin is strikingly fair, as is telltale for the Akhailan lineage. Similarly, she also has the typical platinum blonde hair of an Akhailan, but most all onlookers are unaware of this as Allyson’s hair appears jet black due to a generous amount of dye supplied by the Redshrouds. Her hair sweeps down her head in a rather straight manner ending where it just brushes her shoulders. Allyson’s eyes are a light amber color, augmented to appear a mystical pink when using her magical abilities. Allyson’s style of dress rarely varies. She most commonly dons a light fabric white dress frilling out with a black trim at its end. Accompanying it, she wears black arm wraps as is common for Redshrouds. Her most striking piece of attire also stems from her time with the Redshrouds: her identifying red cloak cinched around her shoulders with a gemstone buckle. Often slung over a shoulder is a messenger’s bag containing all the equipment she doesn’t conceal on her person. Personality: Allyson has lived a rather strictly regulated life— on both fronts— and that shows in her demeanor. She can often appear outwardly as an abrasive, aloof, and spiteful girl. Skewed between her two supposed lives, Allyson ultimately seeks control in every aspect of her daily habits. When things don’t go her way, she has a tendency to act childish, though equally as likely is that she acts out more aggressively and with violence. This is likely because Allyson’s training revolved heavily around her abilities as an assassin. When confronted with things she isn’t used to, she will most likely act with that element of extreme caution and tactfulness. Due to her uniquely sheltered lifestyle, Allyson has a rather especially naive view about many worldly things. She has a tendency to try and hide her lack of knowledge about most things, instead trying to put up a front of ultimate intelligence. This, of course, is no perfect facade. Her lack of exposure to the world often shines through even despite her best attempts to conceal it. Background: Allyson Akhailan was born as the sole heir to the Sheolian Empire’s throne. However unfortunate it was that their sole heir was born a girl, King Davion Akhailan still intended to throw a massive festival in celebration. It was during the festivities that the faction of fabled assassins known as House Redshroud— or more simply The Redshrouds— decided to make their move for leverage on the royal Akhailan bloodline. Allyson was swept away right from her mother’s arms during a royal address to the public. She was taken with the intent to exchange her safety for the safe return of a number of Redshroud prisoners that had been captured by the Sheolian Empire. The head of House Redshroud was not a man known to let go so easily, though. The cunning group of assassins managed to rig the trade employing their array of magical talents. They made off with their colleagues while also managing to not lose possession of their hostage. Imperial society was sent into an uproar, and a nationwide manhunt commenced. Rather than executing Allyson, the head of House Redshroud had taken a liking to her. The group decided to raise her as one of their own, never allowing her knowledge of her true past. As she grew up, Allyson lived a rather privileged life in the lavish guild, but there was a catch. Due to her peculiar situation, she was kept very sheltered and rarely allowed to leave the guild’s hideout with the other assassins. Never informed of her true lineage, Allyson found herself content living her life in the hands of the Redshrouds for quite a long time. As she neared her teenage years, however, Allyson was discontent with her role. She sought to be trained as one of the Redshroud’s mystic assassins just as her peers were, and with enough arguing and throwing fits, her request was eventually granted. Throughout her training, Allyson received special attention from some of the top rogues and mystics of House Redshroud on order of the head of the house Beltran. Allyson never had as much experience in the field as she should have, though. House Redshroud’s greatest secret couldn’t last forever. It wasn’t until Allyson was specifically selected for a mission of infiltration that she was captured by the imperial guard and imprisoned in the capital city of the Empire. The capture of Allyson was meant to end in a public execution as a message to the Redshrouds. The massively populated public event ground to a halt after the Empress swore on her life that she recognized the girl. This led to a very confusing and convoluted attempt from the Imperial nobility to convince both the public and the Redshroud girl that she was the lost princess. Despite the best efforts to convince the assassin, Allyson wasn’t interested in the Empress’s theory. Nonetheless, the imperial family didn’t intend to let the lost princess be lost once again. Allyson was forced to live a life similarly privileged to her time with the Redshrouds while also being just as locked away. She was kept under a restrictive watch in the palace. Her one hope laid in the fact that the Redshrouds may one day come strike the palace again just as they had so many years ago, and she knew they would come. House Redshroud launched an all out war campaign against the Empire. Unfortunately, multiple attempts at raiding the palace went unsuccessful and the imperial family never did give up on reintegrating Allyson into imperial society. It wasn’t long into her stay at the palace that it was revealed to her that she was be wed to another noble that could teach her how to properly rule. Skills & Abilities: Allyson has become quite adept in combative martial arts due to her Redshroud training. She has an extensive knowledge of both unarmed combat and a variety of weaponry common to Redshroud assassins. Such training sessions have also extended to infiltration and exfiltration along with a multitude of stealth-centric arts to accompany her primary tasks in House Redshroud. Thusly, things like sleight of hand come naturally to Allyson. As House Redshroud is centered around the ‘Art of Elimination’, Allyson also has cursory knowledge of basic poisons and other alchemical solutions. In addition to her physical abilities, Allyson has been disciplined by the mystics of her guild. Dubbed ‘Redshroud Mesmerism’, House Redshroud has developed a unique discipline of magic centered around sapping the power of the Eldritch deities that many worship. This power is then concentrated into their mesmerism. Her arts center mainly around augmenting her abilities, and modifying the world immediately around her with illusory phantasms, glamours, and figments. Flaws: ►Lost Princess: Allyson is surely knowledgeable in her specializations, but beyond that, she does lack her fair share of knowledge about the mundane. Because of her extended stay in the Redshroud guild hideout, Allyson is quite naive about how the world works outside of her assassin’s guild. This manifests in a number of ways and it most often evident in her social interactions. ►Redshroud Bravery: Allyson is a trained assassin through and through. This comes with its drawbacks, though. The Redshroud assassins are known to harbor an indomitable bravery that some would mistake for recklessness and carelessness. She is a daredevil through and through. ►Marked By The Law: The lost princess has never been a fan of the concept of ‘law’. Her morality stems only from her honor and the tenants taught to her by the Redshrouds. Because of this, she has a tendency to struggle to comprehend why certain actions of hers are punishable. On top of that, the Empire doesn’t intend to let their finally found princess go so easily. Allyson is something of a ‘most-wanted’ fugitive amongst the Sheolian Empire and its allies. ►Weak Frame: While some of the Redshrouds are the pinnacle of the human physical form, many of the Redshroud mystics are quite the opposite. Allyson is by no means a brawler and has to rely entirely on skill and technique in combat. ►Redhot: Allyson has lived a rather lavish life as the poster child of the Redshrouds. Because of this, she has quite the temper when it comes to not getting her way. This is only made worse by the large role that violence has played in her life. Allyson has a tendency to get quite threatening or even lash out physically at anyone who offends her. Equipment & Possessions: ►Weaponry: Allyson is rarely caught without her signature Redshroud arsenal. While it is not always complete, she tends to always carry a majority of her weapons. The typical Redshroud assassin wields daggers on chain and rope, a harpoon, warfans, and a tanto knife. Each weapon has its unique use in the Redshroud style. ►Personal Journal: A large part of Allyson’s training revolved around reflection. She always carries a personal record in which she meditates on her experiences, missions, and other daily occurrences. Allyson can often be seen archiving her thoughts throughout the day. A variety of sketches and diagrams are also contained within made throughout her training. ►Chemist’s Kit: Allyson has a cursory knowledge of alchemical poisons and always carries a set of vials and tools in her bag to be prepared.
