Prompto yelped, a chunk of rock whizzing past his head and shattering into a wall of sleet behind him. When he looked to see where the projectile came from, he saw Deadeye's tail connect with the rock underneath Sarah's feet. The sight turned his blood cold. "SARAH!" Prompto hoisted himself over the collection of rock he'd been using as a shield. Even as he ran, he knew he wouldn't make it in time. He was too far to save her. Several feet away, Noctis witnessed the hit and Sarah's fall. He was even further than Prompto, but he had something the marksman didn't. Magic. The magic granted him the ability to warp ahead, allowing the prince to cross a considerable distance within seconds. Dashing forward, Noctis seemed to flicker out of view, then reappear, directly underneath the girl. His arms were ready to catch her, and not a moment too soon. With a light thud, he caught the girl before she met the ground, earning sighs of relief from all present. "PROMPTO! Snap out of it!" Gladiolus' voice broke through the clearing. Beads of sweat had gathered on the man's forehead, his agitation increasing when he saw the blond standing right in the center of their current battlefield. He couldn't remember a time Prompto had been so distracted -- but then again, they never had a fifth member to worry about. With a grunt, Gladiolus swung his greatsword in a high, upright motion. The height of the sword was enough to reach Deadeye's underbelly. Blood pouring from the gash, Deadeye roared again, thrashing and stomping until his tail smacked into Gladiolus and sent him sprawling back into a cluster of rock. Seeing this, Ignis leapt backwards to avoid meeting the same fate. Deadeye dipped his head down, saliva and blood dripping from his lips. He looked ready to snap Gladiolus in half. "Prompto! His left eye!" Ignis shouted, urgency in his voice. He whipped one of his daggers into Deadeye's flank, but Deadeye was too focused on the still-immobile Gladiolus to react. Hands shaking, Prompto aimed for the left eye, and shot.
