Not only did she find it offensive he would jump to such tactics, she knew she couldn’t say much else if she were to keep working within the Southern Sea. Not that Windward Isle was particularly important, but word of mouth was a powerful thing. Marina knew the one thing sailors loved more than rum and ale was gossip and she wasn’t too happy with being involved in such things if she could help it. Marina looked over to Terhikki and sighed in defeat. “That was rather rude and uncalled for. But what can you do?” Marina wasn’t sure how Terhikki was going to react, but she hoped she would have enough sense to not get their contract annulled over someone that was an overeager stranger. She tried to gauge Terhikki’s expression to see what she had to prepare for. Such a wild and impulsive girl reminded her of when she was green as a diver, though she recognized at this point in her life that there were just some battles she could not win. “I feel bad for him. I do.” Marina tried to put it past her as she pulled out a diver’s logbook from her inventory pack. She pulled out a graphite pencil from the bindings and began writing down some notes on a page written with “Windward Isle” at the top. Since arriving a few days ago she had recorded what she could learn about the port harbor, the denizens who lived there, and anything about the storm a few leagues past it. On the bottom of the page she underlined a single word: “ship?”. She had almost forgot that she had not gotten around to securing a ship. All the excitement of being in the Southern Sea and dealing with all of this (and Terhikki) had apparently distracted her. We really should secure a ship for travel. There must be a captain of worth in the harbor that would sponsor us.
