A diver needed to be ready for anything. It was a thought she had been driven to never forget during her time at the fleet academy. She still remember her drill instructor screeching at her that if she couldn’t free climb she was as good as razorshark food. The notion that a diver couldn’t be one hundred percent ready was ridiculous to the purple-haired woman. Terhikki may have been taller than Marina, but she was not the prepared, professional diver that she was. “Can you crack ice? Of course I can climb.” She thought for a second on her preferred approach. She was obviously fit better to be the leader of the duo, so it was good that Terhikki recognized her place already. The concept of the stronger, taller climber taking lead was a fair idea, but Marina only ever felt most comfortable in the water; whether she bore a diver’s suit or was forced to use her connection to Mother Ocean. It was an easy call to make, but she felt the need to remind Terhikki that it wasn’t just going to be the two of them versus the world. Though, the notion she could think such a thing was very romantic. “I prefer the water, but remember that we will likely be working with other divers. We should see what our team will look like before we make any hasty decisions.”
