Player Name: The Angry Goat Primary Character: Ghost Secret Identity: Saalima Hassan Status: Solo (potential future in Reserves for one of the groups. we'll see where it goes). Age: 22 City: Bludhaven Day Job: Independent Graphic design, Programming and Coding work, also streams via twitch (mostly Age of Empires II and Civilization) for an average of 40 viewers. Powers: Focused telekinesis - maximum lift weight of 200 lbs, but capable of some impressive finesse with her abilities. She has relatively impressive fine motor control (able to do things like twist doorknobs at a fair distance, break people's fingers, turning the safety on on guns, etc.). Her ability to do these fine things is dependent on her ability to focus. Weaknesses: >Saalima is (meta)human. A single bullet can kill her, among any number of other things. >Saalima is parapalegic, and her left leg is missing above the knee. She is wheelchair bound, and will float herself around when in costume - taking up about half the weight she can lift. >Saalima is brusque and not particularly sociable, and is somewhat emotionally unstable (probably because she has some suppressed PTSD) - loss of contact with her parents heightens her stress. Skills: >tech native: Saalima grew up hacking things for fun, and understands computers, electric circuitry, and the like. If you're trapped in a locked room with a ticking bomb in the corner, she's the woman you want tied up in there with you. >perceptive: highly intelligent, Saalima sees connections where others dont, and is generally going to be the brains of an operation. >Stealth: she's small, she's smart, and she's floating. People usually don't see her unless she wants them to. >Basic adulting: she takes care of herself >Multi-Lingual: fluent in Arabic and English, can get by in French and Greek. >Basic fighting ability: Untrained, Saalima's boxing is ad-hoc and not her strong suit, but she can fall back to it when her powers aren't enough to protect her Appearance: 5’2, thin, somewhat unassuming, 90 lbs (legs weigh about 17% of body mass, she'd be 108 with it). Black hair of moderate length, brown eyes, brown skin. Usually wears a baggy sweatshirt and jeans. Has a cheap wheelchair, the manual kind. Doesn’t bother with shoes, though her right foot usually has at least two socks layered on it. Doesn’t take care of herself all that well. Seems to stare straight through you – it’s quite unnerving. In costume, she wears a full-body length dress she found dumpster diving behind a thrift store one night, and her old half niqab to cover her face. BRIEF Bio: Saalima is Syrian, and has the storyline one might expect from a Syrian no longer in Syria. She came from a rather rich family (her father ran a lot of mines for the government), hence her ability to learn a lot of strong technical skills despite being a woman in a relatively oppressive society. Things started going real south in Damascus eventually, however, and she ended up caught in an explosion that blew off her leg and left her paralyzed below the waist. Better off than her brother, since he's pretty damned dead. Her father was eventually able to get her to the states thanks to his government connections and an aunt who lived in Metropolis (and Saalima's disability), but he wasn't able to get himself and his wife visas. Unfortunately for her, things weren't easy going to her freedom, as she still had to be driven out of the country to get to a safe airfield, and the bus she and other refugees were on was stopped by rebel forces on the way there. She wasn't exactly sure what happened - she thinks they were searching for a specific person on the bus who was closely related to a powerful member of the government, but somehow the driver ended up with a bullet in his head, and they dragged a man off the bus screaming - the stress - the worry - it was all too much, and it triggered whatever had been hiding her latent abilities from her. She moved quickly, subconsciously, mentally throwing the 4 men's guns from their hands, turning them around, and pulling their triggers. the 4 men lay dead, their prisoner free, and Saalima as confused as the rest of the bus passengers. She knew she had done it, but she didnt know how... or why. Someone else was confident enough to drive the bus, and life went on - they made it to the border safely, and to their destinations... but to Saalima, the question persisted. As her aunt set her up with basic amenities in a cheap Bludhaven apartment. as she found a few people who sometimes needed her skills. As she found an audience for her competitive video gaming... What had she done...could she do it again... could she protect people with it? She started training herself, and eventually felt confident enough to actually start trying to solve the rampant crime problems Bludhaven had. like seriously, why had no one delt with that fucking clown permanently yet? Or any of the others, for that matter? There was so much clandestine activity going on, and she loved a challenge. so she got together something to hide her identity, and made her third job hunting down and stopping planned crime. She's become a known presence on the Bludhaven scene in the past three years, especially in the mealtide park area (though her ghostly presence is felt across the city, and the greater Gotham metro area). Story Arcs: Strangely specific robberies in art galleries around the greater Metro area take individual paintings - and Ghost catches on relatively quickly that the 3rd letter of the second word of the title of the paintings progressively spell out R-I-D-D - but can she figure out when and where The Riddler will strike next: and why? Strangely specifically themed villains begin to pop up around Bludhaven, and after Ghost captures The Mime after he kills a fellow actor who usurped his role, she learns that they are gaining their powers from a powerful magician. Who is he, what's his pattern, and how can Ghost stop him. [opportunities for collabs with other regional heroes, also the big villain is loosly based on the evil akuma dude from Miraculous ladybug (about whom I know very little so it's mostly oc lol)] Assaults are on the rise after a prison break freed a few street gangs. Ghost and [character placeholder] team up to take down the gangs and hunt down their ringleaders. Supporting Characters: IIRC Unicycle said he'd be willing to collab. IDK there's probably some other gotham/bludhaven villains and heroes I can write myself with, but I'll come up with that as I go.

Player Name: The Angry Goat Primary Character: Ghost Secondary Character: Shade Secret Identity: Richard Swift Status: Active JLU Age: 31 City: originally out of Nottingham, currently living in the JLU tower in Metropolis Day Job: Full Time Hero Powers: Darkness Manipulation - Swift has an internal connection to the Shadowlands, a dimension of primordial, quasi-sentient darkness that he is able to call upon, manipulate, and travel through. -Darkness Teleportation: Swift is capable of traveling through the Shadowlands to anywhere within 20 miles, provided that he knows exactly where his destination is: either he can see it, or he has been there before. If he doesn't know where he's going he might end up telefragged into the ground, which would be rather life-ending. Additionally, Shade can mark a location with a portal he is able to return to at any time, regardless of distance: this will, however, be the only location he can teleport to (IE he cannot have a portal up and teleport elsewhere at the same time) -Darkness Constructs: think green lantern, but a lower power level. requires constant concentration. these appear solid black to others, but opaque to him. -Darkness projection: Swift is capable of engulfing an area in supernatural darkness. He is perfectly capable of seeing through this darkness, but no human with normal eyesight will be able to. this ability will immediately affect 30 sq. ft, and can expand up to about 300 sq. ft over the course of 3 minutes) -There's a potential future in giving him access to some of the more powerful abilities in his toolkit, like the whole summoning shade demons and shit like that, but we'll see where the power level of the RPG goes before I dive into that Weaknesses: >Completely Human: Dispel his abilities, and he's just a normal human. >Suicidally protective: As a former criminal, Swift feels the need to prove his loyalty to good at every turn. This means that he prioritizes the protection of civilians above everything, including his own life. This means that threatening others is a very effective tool for evildoers with him on their trail. >I'm no detective: Swift isn't often going to be solving entire cases on his own - that's why he joined the league: he needed help directing himself. Skills: >Thief's bag of tricks: a reformed criminal doesn't unlearn their tricks, they just stop using them. Swift is a pretty decent lockpick, knows his way around security systems, and understands how criminals work. He's not a smart man, but he can play detective when he needs to. >Trained fighter: Swift decided to pick up Muy Thai last year, for when it might be inconvenient to fight without his powers. with his abilities, he has a style all his own that is uniquely explosive in close range and extremely hard to counter. Appearance: His right arm is scarred (looks like this https://i.pinimg.com/564x/e9/59/59/e95959203359f9e7865ffa74f7f80517.jpg) BRIEF Bio: Shade's father died young in a factory accident and his mother was abusive, so he ended up in and out of different orphanages and foster care by the time he was 8. He was already getting into the wrong sorts of groups by the time he was 11 or so, learning how to pick pockets, mug people in back alleys, etc. One of his foster parents called him out on it when he was 16, and he ran away from home in response. He lived off the streets for a few months, and he happened upon the cane in a garbage can out back of a rather strange old brick building. Turns out it was a headquarters of a secret society of mages/users of the occult, and the cane was connected to the darkness. They must have thought it was non-functional or something, but for whatever reason the cane bonded with him, and he was able to start using THAT in his heists, which got him quite popular. and quite watched. He ended up cornered by police again when he tried to check himself back into an orphanage, but got away by creating a giant cloud of darkness. he made a run for it, and ended up climbing one of those super tall metal power poles. Looking back, he has no idea why that was a good way to get away from the rozzers in the long run, but it did quite confound them. They eventually convinced him to climb back down, which he attempted to do. however, he ended up slipping, and grabbed out blindly for support - he had grabbed a power line. Obviously, this kills normal people. It also destroys wooden staves people are carrying. and when the staff was destroyed, it transferred its shadow powers to him, allowing him to subconsciously protect himself, enough to not die from the fall or the electrocution. He was still arrested though, and put on trial for, well, a lot of theft. After a year or so of detention (and also wanted to get the sweet plea deal that was offered to him if he was willing to become an MI6 agent in exchange for no longer being in a hellhole prison really meant for adult supervillains). Having never been more than a petty thief for his own survival to begin with, and away from the influence of his gang, Swift was eventually able to realize just why what he did was bad. He continued working in tandem with the british government until last year, when his own political views became wholly incompatible with those of the government. He went on a bit of soul searching before deciding that it was probably best that heroes operate independently of governments, allowing them to better protect the people as a whole, not just the interests of the government. And, it just so happened that the JLU was hiring. Story Arcs: [ANY JL] Road Trip - Before joining the JL, Swift took a vacation for the first time in his life: this storyline will function as single point flashbacks to specific interesting events, and will mostly just be something I can throw in if I want to write a Shade post and there isnt a JL mission going on lol Supporting Characters: Any JL members - and I'm always happy to be called in by a solo hero who needs some extra help from a JL member
