Underneath all that bravado though, is an intensely loyal comrade-in-arms and die hard Federation patriot. She believes deeply in what the Federation stands for and is willing to put all she has on the line to defend those ideals. Skills: Isla is a Top 20 graduate from the Federation’s Walker Flight School, specializing in precision counter-Walker operations. In her (limited) free time she draws, and is quite good despite not getting to practice as much as she’d like; that said she’s made a decent bit of money on the side with various artistic commissions, but it is still very much a hobby to her. Mostly as a defence against questionable quality of most military Mess’, she found herself to be a fairly decent cook. Weakness: Like any pilot, mech or otherwise, Isla is very sure of herself and her skills; a fine thing while on the job, but it can be more than a little irritating to pretty much anyone else who isn’t a pilot. She’s also got a rather uncompromising, and narrow, view of the people of the Ark Union. History: Isla was born in a base hospital, and hasn’t ‘left’ the military since. Both her parents have served in the Federation Military, her mother retiring as a full Colonel in the Infantry, while her father is a serving Brigadier-General in the Judge Advocate General corps. Growing up on bases all over, it was almost a forgone conclusion that she would enlist once she reached the age of majority, what was surprising was the career path she chose. Her intention as a child had been to follow in her mother’s boot steps, but that was only until she saw her first vid on the new ‘Arsenal Walkers’ that were slated for service; after that point everything she did was with the goal of becoming a Walker pilot. Other than the usual disruptions of a military family, her early life was average, and upon her eighteenth birthday she enlisted, telling the recruiter her goal was to become a Walker pilot. With a career path locked in, she tore through Basic Training, finishing with top marks in her class, before being moved on rapidly to the Officer Training School; her high marks and the militaries own need for new Walker pilots gave her a direct path to where she wanted to go. After OTS, where she once again placed in the top of her class, she was sent off to begin pilot training. Once again distinguishing herself, she graduated from the pilot’s academy just after her twenty third birthday. From there, she joined the ‘Second Wave’ of new pilots that were coming in to replace the older ones as they got moved up to senior command and instruction positions. Two years ago she was transferred to an experimental program to test a ‘Sniper’ variant of the FAW-014 in extended real world conditions.

Equipment
Flight suit and survival vest.
Armament

Rheimetall 90mm Hypervelocity Chemrail CannonThe HCC-90 sits in a vertical centerline position on the FAW_014[H]’s back while not in use, and the transitions to horizontal mounting over the right shoulder during firing.

M934 Armour Piercing Fin-Stabilized Discarding Sabot The M934 APFSDS fires a 60mm ‘dart’ made up of a tungsten alloy, which travels at speeds great enough to cause catastrophic damage to any known AW platform through sheer kinetic transfer.
Range: 7 000 m

Muzzle Velocity: 2 970 m/s

Penetration: 1 000mm @ 500m

M456 Antipersonnel-Tracer The M456 APERS-T is a ‘canister’ containing 89 10mm darts of the same material and shape as an M934 round. The darts spread out in a cone pattern, covering a 300 m area at 500 m. The M456 is most effective against armoured infantry and wheeled or tracked vehicles, though it can cause significant ‘secondary’ damage to an AW by damaging/disabling joints, optics and/or weapon systems.
Range: 2 300 m

Muzzle Velocity: 1 400 m/s

Penetration: 500mm @ 100m

M453 High Explosive Squash Head The M453 HESH is a demolition round, primarily intended to engage and destroy fixed fortifications, using the high explosives to cause lethal spalling inside the structure, while at the same time weakening the outside dramatically.
Range: 5 000 m

Muzzle Velocity: 1 066 m/s

Penetration: 800mm

Bushmaster M404 Arsenal Walker Defence Weapon [AWDW]
Calibre: 40 mm High Explosive Anti-Armour [HEAA]

Range: 2 000 m

Cyclic Rate: 700 rpm

Gurkha pattern Thermal Blade
GDOTS Mk.40 Mod 10 30mm Automatic Grenade System The Mk 40/10 AGS is mounted on a retractable powered mount in the FAW-014[H]’s left shoulder, and is used to deploy a mixture of both passive and active counter measures to protect the unit from enemy fire.

T60A Smoke Canister
T101 Infra-red Decoy
T702 Chaff Dispenser
AD-44 Burst Jammer

Weakness: Due to the increased power requirements of the cannon, the FAW-014[H] is outfitted with the same, larger, power plant as an FAW-007[G] and a high density capacitor bank. When firing, the pilot must direct up to 70% of the plant’s output to the cannon on top of the stored power in the capacitor bank. Upon firing there is a massive EM spike on par with an FAW-016, which effectively removes any sensor masking that the FAW-014[H] maybe employing. With so much power required to operate the cannon, much of the stock FAW-014’s dynamic movement systems have been removed as well. This has left the FAW-014[H] significantly slower and more detectable than its conventional counter-parts, and lacking most of what armour it once had. Pilot: Capt.
