A normal day since everything happened. So why did everything still struck pain within her heart. Keri's figure shifted in place as she stared out of the gate, thoughts of going towards their makeshift resting place, instead of going to class. After all Tin Man was the one who said closure was the best cure. As if he knew everything. The woman's eyes shifted to her right only catching a glimpse of someone seeming to watch her. "It's rude to stare Leith. I know you all are extremely... How do I say this?" A small paused entered the air in order to phrase her words correctly. " Cautious is what I want to say in this case. But I won't hurt your home." Leith chuckled. He had a pack over his shoulder full of notes, both from his class and from the library. "I think, it'd be pretty hypocritical for me to be cautious of you, considering..." He shifted his cloak to reveal his gauntlet to the vampire. "Besides, It'll take more than being a vampire to make me wary." He approached Keri. "Copper for your thoughts?" " You remind me of someone. Actually a few people." The woman said in a distant voice. She slowly moving her left leg, only to stop completely. It was obvious the vampire was mentally fighting herself. Though with what would have been unknown. In a way she was beginning to wonder if every had noticed the carvings. Who was Keri kidding? Of course they all had. Hopefully it didn't seem too obvious to other considering that they were all animals. Eight in total. " Did he send you to get me?" She asked as her eyes shift towards the young man. "Would that really change anything?" Leith grinned. " Nah, I was just walking to class when I noticed you. It looked like you were considering leaving." He shrugged. " That's your decision, I guess." He looked out through gates leaving the Twilight college. "Any particular place in mind?" " Not far really. Maybe towards the carvings. Than again people might be there considering they're rather new. Leith if it's not too much trouble will you walk with me? Colette is in class right now so she won't be with me for most of the day. Honestly I really don't feel like going alone." She mumbled. The girl's figure finally placed the leg downwards, once again eyes searching the area, and continued to lead the way. The walk seemed to be filled with silence for the most part, though a sudden idea came to mind. " If you had one question to ask anyone Leith. What would it be?" The young woman asked. A minute pause seemed like a good thing for this male. Maybe a bit more? In a way she felt it too random and yet perfect for the walk. " Think of it as some sort of game. One that will help in the future." Leith frowned as he gave thought to the question. The suddenness of it brought the question why to his mind, but as he thought further on it, it seemed the perfect question. "Why." He swirled his hand in the air, and three small balls of water formed and rotated around his hand. "I left my home to come to the college, what was it, six years ago now? I would have made it here and been much farther along in my abilities had I not been stopped by these men." He glanced at Keri. "Self proclaimed vampire hunters doing Eania a favor because 'the only good vampire is a dead one.'" Leith grimaced. "They bound me to a stake in the middle of the forest and were going to burn me alive, so my question would be why? Why the hatred for vampires?" Leith was quiet for a few moments before he spoke up, his voice a lot more happier than it was. "What about you? What question would you ask?" This had caught the vampire off guard. There was only three questions she had been wanting to as people. The girl's walking rhythm slowly to a near crawl at first. Her eyes lowered towards the ground, as if searching for the answers in the grass. It felt like an hour before the young woman lifted her head. " In reality I can't answer this Leith. Mainly due to the rules which was placed down. Yet I feel like I should. As if you out of everyone here would understand what I mean. Strangely enough I feel like if I ever left you with a few others would know where I went." Keri allowed her words to seep into the man's heart, so to speak, before continuing. " Guess my first question would go to my real parents. I never understood why they had left me out on the streets. Guess I was something they didn't want. Perhaps I wasn't allowed to live. Honestly I don't remember their faces. The second would be for you or them. If it was towards you I would ask if you believed in second chances. For them it would have been why did that vampire tear you all apart. The last one I think I would ask towards my marker. What gives you the right to decide who lives or dies?" Almost after saying this she fell silent. Leith grinned. "That's no fair. You only gave me one question, but to answer your question, yes. Let me pose a scenario for you. If you were picked on as a child really badly by other children who didn't know better, what would you do?" " Before they took me in I would have taken it. After all the adults treated me the same. After I was protected by my brothers. Pain in the asses granted, but family none the less. As for your question place yourself in my spot. You're watching two child being toyed with by these unrealistic monsters. Creature which you were taught never existed. Your sister-in-law's baby being forcefully removed before birth. Brother trying to save their families. Would you not think the same as those people?" She asked honestly. "I... don't know." Leith chuckled bitterly. " Seems like we've quite the pasts, don't we? but the point I was getting at at least was the fact that my closest friends back home were the same children that tormented me out of ignorance, so I completely believe in second chances. So where are we going, anyways?" The girl chuckled as she listened. The thought of Leith as a child was rather strange to picture. In a way the woman had pictured her second oldest, who was never really into fighting, while trying to talk his way out of everything. How many times had she seen the boy come home with bruises. Their oldest noting and running out towards the group with this funny look upon the jerk's face. Priceless now but rather humorous back then. Considering they all thought growing up faster would fix all their problems. " You have me there. I'm going to those eight carvings. The ones just at the edge of the college grounds. I'm sure people are noticing them. Considering that they're newly done. I couldn't take them to their graves, mainly because we're not to leave school grounds, so I placed them here. If that makes sense." A few moments passed again as the wooden carvings came into view. A small frown forming as she noted fresh flowers laying in the middle. " Seems like my best friend beat me to it. She always did like them. They welcomed everyone in their home. I think they would have really liked you Leith." Leith nodded. "I'm glad to hear that." He stared at the flowers as he thought. "You picked a nice place." " I saw this area after I decided to stay. Though the college could use something to liven it up. I wanted to also place them to rest somewhere near by. Somewhere I called home with people I would eventually consider family. After all you weren't afraid of me. Even when I was much colder." The girl remarked while sitting down on the grass. " When I first came here all I could think about was revenge. As time moved on I only thought about how could I trust you all. Now I can't stop trying to think of ways to keep you all safe. Funny isn't it? The cruel hand of irony huh?" "You'd find that most people at the college aren't afraid of vampires, but there are always some people that are, and as for when you were colder, most of us had to deal with Mar. You were a breeze." Leith grinned at Keri as he sat down. "I'm sure you've heard about when she and Althalus had a full on fight in one of the courtyards?" Keri looked at him with an eyebrow raised. She had heard parts of the collected Althalus and Mar stories. THough this one must have escaped her grasp. " I've heard parts of some of their stories. This one however seemed to have escaped me. Please do share Leith. I'm curious." "I've only heard this second-hand, but from the sounds of it. Althalus wouldn't get out of Mar's way and Mar attacked him with her scythe. Ssarak ended up getting involved and used his breath on them..." Leith frowned. "That sounded wrong. Esyires can breathe their magic. Ssarak used his and stopped the fight before it could go further." Keri nodded as she listened. Her head moving to the right." Take it as this is going to end rather strangely. Than again it has Althalus." Leith smirked. "I don't think Lyn is strange." " That part was pointed more towards her father." She said with a smile. " Worse part is I think he would deny it." Leith chuckled. "Well. I think we should probably get back to the college before we're missed." Leith picked himself off the ground and offered his hand to help Keri up. The girl took it with a grin." You know I think this was the best choice I ever made. Now than. I'll race you to class Leith. No vampire speed." Granted that as soon as this was said she took off in a ran. One which was a bit faster than a human speed but not impossible to keep up with.
Keri’s eyes slowly fluttered open, arms around the figure of her sleeping lover, before the top one was removed. How long had it been since they had this conversation? Was it after the carvings were placed in that area or was it just before this rather childish party that college was invited to? Either way this was the first step into moving on. It was strange to think of all the times the vampire was being a child, only to meet these people who changed her life for the better, yet something was missing. For now the young woman couldn’t wrap her fingers around it. Her arms slowly moved upwards to allow herself to stretch out the sore muscles. In a way Keri didn’t what to get out of her hiding hole, mainly because of what Althalus’ creative game, or as he called it seemed to call it Assassin Training. Though the extra money would definitely help here due to the ever loving people’s attitude. From what teh girl could tell so far was anyone who looked different would have a massive chance of being ignored. A massive plus to this was no one would be asking about Colette’s ring. The young woman shifted to the left, allowing her to place the ring and a spare bag of candies inside her boot, just in case something bad happened before deciding it would be best to have someone else to hold it. Better safe than sorry when it comes to ignorant humans such as the ones who lived here. At least these thoughts were based from what her adopted father told from when he was a child living here. Making the sour taste inside her mouth that much more apparent. ” I guess I should grab something to help shield us from sunlight. Perhaps we can also keep our weapons with us as well. After all we’ll be targeted by the others in training.” She said grabbing her shield, sword, and a parcel before checking to see if the red cloth hanging from her wrist was still there. After this was done the vampire exited out of the carriage to join the others.
