The encounter between Athena and Mark was not one that went smoothly, to be honest. Many things had gone well, but Athena and Mark meeting was not one of those things. There was already tension in the air that was going to naturally occur. It was simply nature. She knew that he wasn't going to consider her threat shit, and he knew that she wasn't going to take anything he said seriously either. Words of a cop didn't stick on a criminal, and words of a criminal didn't stick on a cop.
This was wrong. This was incredibly wrong. Athena felt so slimy and dirty being in a car full of criminals, and Ellie. The amount of sheer irony that this car had was enough to build another car. The weapons that Mark had just conveniently showed up with didn't really help ease Athena's anxiety. The additional ammo for her guns was nice, though. She didn't know how much ammo she had used up during the encounter earlier. A pair of gloves for the trained SWAT officer was also a nice touch. It was going to help when she handled her weapon in the inevitable combat situation. Ellie, on the other hand, was just as confused. What exactly was she doing here? Why was she wearing this thick, heavy vest? Why were there so many guns? She still didn't know her role in this other than the fact that a motorcycle might be involved. She was sitting against a pillar in the SUV, her body bouncing with every bump the Range Rover took. Just how far back did Ross's connections go? It was pretty crazy that they were able to get to this point at all. Past the border with all of these guns and people. She felt like she was in an action movie. Something straight out of Fast and Furious with all the family and illegal shit going on. She was hoping she didn't go the same way as some of the side characters, though. Athena perked up as Mark began the briefing. Fast in, fast out. Looked like she didn't need to bring her MP5 along. It was going to be unnecessary weight slowing them down. Putting her MP5 aside, she pulled out her Sig Sauer and performed a one-handed press check to see if a round was chambered. It was. Athena was taking a deep breath to prepare herself for the movement she would've had to do once they arrived. Again, it was fast in, fast out. The police officer perked up once again when she was asked about her Spanish skills. Finally, it was her time to shine. "Nada mal para una gringa (not bad for a white girl)." Once they arrived, Athena exited the SUV with her pistol out, before looking at the location the supposed target was supposed to be in. She looked at Mark, then back at the bar as she prepared herself for a potentially hairy encounter. "You ready?" She asked, gesturing to the bar.
