[indent]Laurel has been in the gym for as long as she could remember. A toddler with boundless energy, she was enrolled in Gymnastics as soon as she could walk properly on her own, and she found that she possessed a natural talent for the sport almost instantly. Her coaches knew she had something special as soon as they saw her, and her peers envied her talents on the beam, floor, and uneven bars. Laurel was [i]that[/i] Gymnast who actually had a chance to win. It was the sparkle in her eye and the determination in her brain that led her to begin training nonstop for a chance at Olympic glory.

Her passion for the sport grew as she did. She began winning competition after competition, and her reputation skyrocketed in addition to her confidence. Laurel even began doing school part-time in order to train more in the gym to gain a chance at Olympic gold. She'd wake up at the crack of dawn, train for 4 hours, go to school, go back to the gym, and then go home quite late. Eat, sleep, train, repeat. All because her coaches truly believe she had a chance to succeed. Laurel was a force of nature. Unbeatable- [i]unstoppable[/i]- and no one could take that away from her.... well, except for her. 

When Laurel was 14, one wrong move on the floor changed everything, causing a torn meniscus and ACL and the end of her Olympic career. She was absolutely [b]devastated[/b]. She felt like she let her coaches and her parents down, as they'd put so much effort into helping her in her career. She worked as hard as she could in physical therapy to get back on the mats, but her doctors said she couldn't train like she used to. So, Laurel made lemonade out of the lemons she was given and joined the Excel Gymnastics Club in Beverly Hills, which was ultimately the best decision she could have made, as she still gets to participate in the sport she loves with lower pressure. The Gymnastics Club does local competitions, which she thoroughly enjoys. Although she does not have the opportunity to win gold anymore, she now actually has a life and can enjoy being a teenager for once. But what's next? Laurel is trying to go to a D1 school to be a Gymnast, but only time will tell.
