Camden Montero

[sup]France || Paris Proper || May 14th, Mid Afternoon[/sup]

After some more thought—as well as a glimpse of some of his fellow new trainers’ Pokemon collections—Camden realized that he probably needed at least two or more Pokemon before he started battling, and there was no Pokemon he wanted more than a Gothita, especially after his loss to one the day before. So this time, he wasted little time finding where he’d last seen the psychic-type, intent on finding the Gothita while the sun was still bright in the sky. We’ll catch one this time, Camden thought as he scanned the streets. His eyes caught on a small Gothita emerging from behind a canal-side bench, and he looked down at Ruby. “You ready?” he asked. Ruby nodded, trotting forwards to challenge the unsuspecting Gothita, but a small pebble smacked him on his cheek, intercepting him and giving the small Gothita the alert it needed to run away. “You—from yesterday!” Camden said, eyes widening as the same Gothita from the day before appeared from behind him, its arms crossed. Ruby was at his trainer’s side in an instant, glaring at Gothita, who mocked a yawn. “Oh, you’re going to regret that” Camden said, grinning. Sure the Gothita had been a bit stronger last time they’d met, but a wild Pokemon could hardly be expected to improve as quickly as a trainer and their Pokemon. “Ruby, start it off!” Ruby nodded, spitting out a slew of Leech Seeds around the Gothita that sprouted as soon as they touched ground. Let’s see how you like Morning Sun when it’s far from sunset, Camden thought, watching as Ruby prepared to launch a Tackle. Not to mention Ruby’s ability, Chlorophyll. The Gothita didn’t seem too impressed with Ruby’s display, since the Cherubi was sticking to a similar routine. However, that was exactly what Camden was counting on: having won the last time, it’d underestimate Ruby—a mistake that would help Ruby bring it down, seeing as Paris’ natural sunlight was bright today. Though it wasn’t overly so, like the “harsh sunlight” described by the ability, the Cherubi would no doubt fare better that he’d had at sunset. “Get him, Ruby!” Camden called when the Gothita prepared its first move. At Camden’s call, Ruby rushed forwards towards the Gothita in a quick Tackle.
