The news that you discovered your new hobby, roleplaying, then decided to come here is a welcome turn of events and it is always a spectacular revelation to realize just how different and dynamic writing can be with others than by one's self. 

I would absolutely suggest browsing about and getting a feel for what topics might be of interest to you, dedicating to what you can where you can, but not spreading yourself too thin until you have a sense of the forum's dynamics and pattern of behavior. This noted, as I so often state to those who join us, note that a large part of the community is made up of students and thus it has a cycle of activity that mirrors it.
