[indent]Lily Henry was born to mother Hunter Harris and a father who supposedly died in war overseas. So she grew up in the Harris family's hometown of Katy, Texas to a pretty religious family. The Harris clan was the poster for a conservative, religious family. It took many generations to shake off the lingering racism (which still exists in some parts of the family), but the homophobia still runs rampant even to this day. Little does the Lily and the rest of the Harris family know, though, Hunter Harris was with a woman at some point in time.  Whether that woman is her "father" is a secret that nobody but Hunter knows. The only thing the Harris family knows is the father who died overseas.

Hunter and Lily eventually uprooted themselves and moved to Southern California since Hunter had gotten a job a company located in California. Of course, the Southern California branch was chosen in a heartbeat. It was much, much better than snowflake-filled Northern California. Lily grew up holding her conservative values to heart, which lead her to making a lot of enemies growing up. Nowadays, though, she's unaware of her true reputation but has a semblance of an idea about just how many people dislike or even hate her. It didn't matter, though.
