The Journey begins

Kris waited for what felt like hours after telling the others of the meeting location, Hyperion gas, a small station on the long stretch of road; with the station having a large sign telling people that it was the last one for what seemed like miles and it's sign was pretty easy to spot from miles away, it seemed like one of the best places to meet up before they would go off onto this journey to crash her sister's wedding. For a moment Kris' mind wondered how the party would be, probably something really cliche and lame, like white pure doves, white petals, massive cake, and stupid dancing to crazy music that people would think is strange or stupid; but while everyone was acting like a fool she probably would have enough time to ask Diana the question she's been meaning to ask for a long time, she looked up to the sky sighing thinking on everything and trying her best to relax while waiting. When the sun started to beam down harder the pale princess fanned herself before getting into her recently bought SUV; for some reason Diana talked her into thinking the convertible version would be better than the normal version, she partially regretted the convertible but deep down did like the choice was pretty stylish in her own opinion, the moment her arms started to sunburn she grabbed the suntanning lotion and the aloe cooling herself down. Once her mini crisis was over she looked over to nearby Diner to spot the head of Diana in the window; it was years ago since they went to the academy and Diana had changed so much looking older than how she looked all that time ago. But when Kris looked in the mirror of her car, she noticed that she didn't change as much as Diana had over the years, looking nearly the same as when they first met all those years ago, it must have been like her father told her."Ice doesn't crack" The princess shook her head trying to rid her mind of the lame saying from her old man, telling herself." It's genetics, not some silly saying." Remembering the whole, this is the last gas station for miles sign, Kris felt a bit worried about their gas and checked on the gas in the SUV then checked the extra gas she was carrying in the trunk. After quelling her nervousness of running out of gas, Kris headed into the Diner; for a small roadside diner with not a lot of cars running by, it had a lively business here in the middle of almost nowhere; The princess didn't question it's strange active business, she just joined Diana at her window seat. Kris noticed her enjoying her mean of two burgers with a side of really thick cut fries, getting a bit hungry from the smells drifting in from the kitchen; Kris grabbed Diana's second burger." Thanks for ordering for me as well." After taking her first bite of the greasy burger and taking her sweet time chewing it down, she groaned at her choice in eating the burger." If I start eating like you Diana I'm gonna end up all fat and disgusting, nobody likes a fat princess." But the princess continued to eat the burger, she took her time devouring it before resting her elbows on the table wondering who actually would come out here, she knew sending invitations to everyone from the old academy wouldn't get everyone out here, but she hoped that some people she remembered from the old days would come around besides just her and Diana, then the thought of just Kris and Diana being there made the princess think that she could ask her question one on one a bit easier, then she thought that she could ask Diana here and now before any of them could get here. The Princess looked Diana in the eye and opened her mouth ready to speak only to spot something on a tv mounted to the Diner's wall; it was the news speaking of another attack on elementals from normal people, Kris looked away from the tv groaning, she remembered all the skirmishes from the anti-elementals, she rubbed her bicep remembering one of them getting a lucky shot on her; she knew that the relationship with elementals and the normals was only getting worst and here in Stendal it was no different than anywhere else, there were people okay with elementals and people who weren't. Kris only hoped that this plan these two old men had would calm things down, because she didn't want to see suicide bomber anti-elementals trying to attack the castle.
