Paige had been intending to decline Kimberly's offer when she saw something moving quickly out of the corner of her eye, punctuated a moment later by the sound of screaming. She had been second-guessing her own senses today, but she was hardly going to ignore someone screaming, especially when said screaming person, a somewhat dark-skinned young woman, came running into the cafe telling them to run or to hide. Paige looked down at her own leg, and at Jordan's. Hide it is, then. Paige picked up her crutch from the seat next to her and stood up, feeling pathetically unable to deal with this, this monster, had the girl said? That was a question for later, when they were safe - having witnessed some weirdness already, she was willing to accept the idea of a serial killer monster as at least possible. In any case, she had to get on. Every second would count, and they didn't have many. This monster, or whatever it was, would be on them soon if the new girl had needed a full sprint to get this far. As for places to hide... under a table or behind the counter both seemed painfully obvious, and Paige couldn't think of anything else but perhaps there would be something better in another room. "We can't run," Paige said to the new girl, gesturing both to her leg and to Jordan's. "Kim," she said, turning to the woman in question, "is there somewhere in the back we can hide, in the kitchen or something?" So it seemed that the weirdness had moved from confusing and a little worrying to potentially life-threatening. Despite this terrifying change for the worse, Paige couldn't help feeling a little glad that at least she wasn't the only crazy one.
