Tension began to build between the two of them all over again, as they started to walk to each other. A reflection of light hit their eyes at perfect angle to seize their attention. The lake was glimmering in the callow light of dawn. Local legend had it that a giant digimon hand had scooped out a gash of rock aeons ago. Then a great heap of argent-silver was molded and poured into it, hemmed in by precipitous hills. A broad span of Tuscany-blue sky was slashed above it, making it appear like nature’s amphitheater. The hollowness of the valley magnified all sounds, from burbling streams to the bumble of flymon. The visage of the lake was veneer-clear and tranquil, flanked by an avenue of cedar trees. Plip-plopping swimmon caused concentric rings to puff out and disappear as the air hummed all around us. A phalanx of flies was patrolling the water’s edge, called into service by the heaven-filtering light. The water had a peaty texture, but pools of molten gold lay naked in the light. At the bottom, smooth-edged stones glowed amber with a witchery uncommon to the modern world. On impulse Chaska ran towards the lake, reached down and sipped from the stream. Nyx followed Chaska and watched him as he drink the lake water, savoring every last drop. The water ran down the side of his bottom lip as he turned to face Nyx. The taste was a mixture of rosewater and chalybeate that thrilled the tongue. Chaska sat on a rock, admiring the glorious luster of the water. Chaska thoughts fell confessional-quiet. Chaska had an alleluia moment then and yearned for a time when the world was young and pure. Nyx somehow was also a slave to the peacefulness of the scenery, all pain, frustration, and fear washed away with the lakes ripples. A small thorn had spiked Nyx foot, but it didn’t break her reverie. The rain-winkled grass cast a silver sheen and the dewy air was laden with cedar-sweet smells. As if the battle field had awoken all the spirits of the land, and brought it to life. Chaska "You know i don't know what I'm going to do, but I'm sure it would be easier to figure out if i had a partner". " You have a deal i guess i would help you until i find something else to do." Nyx said as she leaned on a near by paradise green tree, the ground was crinkly be neigh her feet as Nyx readjusted. The bark of the trees felt like frozen, bubbled soup to Nyx back. With a sigh, Chaska and Nyx got up forged their way onward. It was a place with an eldritch beauty all of its own. Chaska and Nyx resolved to return one day to this halcyon paradise.
